We only stayed for one night, but it was a nice, clean hotel in a great location. Front desk staff was very friendly. Within walking distance to a lot of nice shops and restaurants, and less than a mile to the pedestrian mall. Complimentary breakfast looked good with a lot of options - however, I only had coffee. I would stay again if in the area.

My only complaint is the construction going on next door - it looks like they're putting in some new apartments and shops. They were doing work until dark Saturday night, and were at it again Sunday morning. It didn't bother us too much, but it's something to consider, even though it is only temporary.

This hotel is very convenient for those who are visiting the UVA Hospital and caters towards that group. Check-in was extremely slow as the staff was having trouble converting reservations into actual room keys. The suite was very spacious and clean, although the furniture was quite worn (the couch had a strange dark discoloration). Suite was very quiet and internet speed was reasonable. Breakfast was less impressive than the average Hampton Inn. The premade omelet was extremely salty and the pastry selection was very limited. Overall, a good choice if you need to be by the hospital but has room for improvement.

Wonderful experience, only one night. Everything was up to par, barring only the synthetic blend pillowcases - cotton would have made it flawless. Other than that very personal issue, my stay was perfect. Will definitely stay here again if in Charlottesville.

My daughter and I return to the Hampton Inn & Suites at the University of Virginia whenever we get together. My grandson is a first year at UVA and ths is convenient for the family to visit him. I get my "youth fix" walking the grounds and spending time on the Corner. This Hampton is well run, clean, efficient. The front desk receptionist named Trudy will brighten your day as will the other clerks on duty. The complimentary breakfast is always fresh and replenished often. Fresh fruit, hot waffles, eggs, bagels, breakfast meats, juices, cereal, and on and on. Coffee is fresh, hot and delicious. The shuttle driver will take you to the downtown mall and can advise you locations of great eating spots for lunch or dinner. He is always courteous and will pick you up after your night out and bring you back to the door of the hotel. Don't drink and drive, book the shuttle and be safe.

I stayed here during the brutal cold stretch in Jan 2014. But that was the only problem. I found the hotel to be exceptionally clean. They promote the fact that they clean the bed spread and duvet for each guest and I personally enjoyed this touch. Other hotels may do it, but I am not aware. There was a free breakfast in this morning and the shuttle came to get me at the airport upon my arrival. It only starts running at 7am though.
