Although we had stayed at numerous Hampton Inns, this one stands out for it's people pleasing attitude. The facility, situated within a mall area is a typical Hampton with no outstanding physical qualities. It's assets are twofold. First is the courteous and helpful attitude of the personnel, from the folks at the front desk to breakfast and cleaning people. Secondly is the proximity to numerous historical sites and the campus of UVA.

The hotel is off the main highway which is good and it is a little older. Still, it is clean and maintained. The elevator for the front is outside of the lobby which is unusual but it works. The pool is outdoors and nice. There is plenty of walking area around the hotel. Very close to several chain restaurants but if you are in Charlottesville, be sure and go downtown and walk through the pedestrian mall and the campus. It is beautiful and enjoyable with great architecture as well as some interesting restaurants. The room was a little on the small size but not a problem since I was by myself. Breakfast was fine with good service. Yes, the hotel is older and it could use some renovation but it is clean and more than adequate. I would stay ther again. Parking, internet, breakfast all free. Good location for visiting UVA or other areas in Charlottesville.

Really convenient to the university and nice clean room! Used the free shuttle service to get around town - nice perk so that you don't have to deal with parking. Gave good recommendations on dinner - nice, friendly service from the staff and the shuttle driver.

Friendly staff, free internet, free parking, lots of tv channels but the hotel is quite dated and needs a face lift. The room also smelled of smoke. A new homewood suites is being built across from this hotel so hopefully it will be ready for my next stay.

I will probably stay here again...the duvet was just too warm for my comfort. Not a big deal. Very nice room otherwise...no construction noise. Very clean and although we ate breakfast at another place it looked quite good at the Hampton. Lots of food choices.

Friendly hotel staff, eager to assist. I needed a last minute reservation in Charlottesville, VA and remembered the pleasant stay I had last time when in town. The room was ready and was very clean and inviting. The only "negative" which has nothing to do with the running of the hotel, is that the guests in the room next door were loud but thankfully not too late in the evening. I Would highly recommend this location.

Stayed in this hotel one night this summer. Located within an outdoor shopping mall. A good location for a weekend touring Charlottesville. Near Monticello and the Downtown Mall. Not too far from several wineries and Walton's Mountain Museum. We enjoyed a nice summer evening poolside after a long day touring around. Lots of restaurants less than a mile from hotel. We ate at Outback Steakhouse. Clean room, a/c worked well and there were 4 of us in the room. Good breakfast with healthy choices too. Staff worked hard to keep the breakfast items and coffee stocked during breakfast 'rush hour'. The coffee bar was open with hot coffee and cold water and homemade cookies at check in. I enjoyed this Hampton Inn. If you are doing a winery tour in the summer, this hotel would be a good choice, especially if you like to unwind outside at the cafe table by the pool.
