Dot and Julian did everything in their power to make our visit with them enjoyable. Will stay there again. Very interesting artifacts and antiques. Ghost of Elizabeth in the Liz room is an interesting story. Civil war bride who lost her soldier fiancé and died alone never marrying....

Room Tip: They are all nice.

When you step into Edgewood, you step back into time. The owners, Dot and Julius are FABulous people. Dot is an encyclopedia of information and she will amaze you with her charming personality and wealth of knowledge. The house is furnished throughout with some of the most awesome antiques you have ever seen and the personal touches that Candy and Dot have given to them will leave you breathless. Every room has it's history and it's very unique personality. You do not feel like you are a paying visitor to a bed and breakfast; you feel like you are a royal guest in the mansion of your dearest friend. This was our second visit to Edgewood but our first overnight stay. Both visits made memories we will cherish. DO NOT visit Williamsburg, Shirley Plantation, or Berkeley Plantation without stopping in to visit with Dot. You won't be sorry!!!

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are lovely but the famous haunting of Lizzie waiting in the window for her lover is...

If you are looking for a truly relaxing stay, you have to try the Edgewood Plantation in Charles City, Va. The hosts, Dot and Julian, make you feel like old friends without hovering over you. My friend and I went there after a very long drive and just wanted to chill out before a day filled with plantation visits. We were shown our room, offered a glass of wine on the beautiful veranda and some good conversation mixed in with history and a little humor. The room was great, the bed big and inviting, and the breakfast delicious. It was, for me and my best friend, a delightful time. We'll be back soon with spouses.

Dot and Julian were wonderful! The Jeb Stuart room was quite comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous and we will definitely be back. Hoping to try out the bike trails on our next visit. Thank you Dot and Julian for a wonderful weekend!

Edgewood Plantation is a beautifully restored home that combines modern-day comforts with furnishings that make you feel as if you've stepped back in time. The grounds are beautiful, and the hospitality and service are unbeatable. The owners are what really set this B&B apart, with their enthusiasm and their great stories about the history of the home and the surrounding area. The B&B is worth a visit on its own, but if you want to explore, there are several impressive historic plantations just up the road that are well worth the trip!

If you love antiques and old houses, this is the place for you. We have been there 6 times and can't wait to go again. I love looking at the antiques and birdwatching on the beautiful grounds. Dot, Julian and Candace make you feel at home. The historical significance of the place warrants a visit by itself. I looked at about 20 other B&B's trying to branch out but nothing compares to Edgewood.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are excellent! We have stayed in them all except for the attic.
