This is a very small park with a walking path and some informative signs. Not really a destination all by itself (unless you’re a huge civil war geek) but a neat stop if you’re nearby.

I am interested in this small remainder of the battlefield since my greatgreat uncle fought here. It is a small area near the shopping center and condos and is all that survives of the Chantilly ( Ox Hill) battlefield. Two union generals were killed here Stephens and Meagher. It was a chaotic battle fought during a violent thunderstorm.

Beautiful place to walk, Not your regular neighbor hood park. In the middle of busy roads and shopping centers is this quiet little park that gives you a quick history lesson with nature and a good walk. Children and dogs welcome (Just clean up the messes)

For any serious buff of Civil War History- this is a *must see". A little know and written about battle as an afterthought to Bull Run2, it was a very important one- and a few notable figures lost their lives. Unbelievably- this small piece got preserved despite being overwhelmed by development- so at least there is a long lasting memorial to those that lost their lives. There is nothing left to see of the battlefield- but the outline, review, and "sense" of what occurred here has been documented and preserved as best as possible.

Was expecting a visitor's center but only found a small parking lot off of the main highway with placards explaining what happened at this site. I took a walk around the grounds, reading various informational signs (only took about 20 - 30 minutes total) but did find the monuments interesting. Seems like nearby communities are gradually taking over the site. I hope it remains for future generations to visit this small but important battlefield.
