The location is no-nonsense. Service was friendly and quick, and the menu is diverse.
We had the reina pepeada arepas and Colombian empanada as appetizers. The arepa was a little dry for my liking, not the best I've had, though still tasty. The empanada, on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! We then ordered the Coloimbia Bandeja Paisa and the Venezuelan pabellon criollo as our entrees. The Bandeja Paisa was tasty, but nothing out of this world. Somehow we have yet to find one that tastes as good as it does IN Colombia. The pabellon criollo on the other hand, was fantastic. I enjoyed every single bite, and would order it again in a heartbeat.
Finally, there is a reason why this place is called "Don Churro's", and that is that the churros are out of this world. Warm, crispy outside, soft inside, with a sweet filling and whipped cream for dipping. I liked the dulce de leche better than nutella. I would go back JUST for those churros... they were simply amazing. Overall we were very pleased with out meal. It's not cheap, but the portions are generous and the taste is good. Oh, and I must not forget to mention the fruit juices. I had the mora smoothie (jugo en leche) and it was delicious.
Yes, I think we will definitely be back. Greatly place to meet up with friends, too.
