I've been living in Centreville for about 4 years and didn't even know this place existed until about two weeks ago when I saw it while out on a walk. The museum is small, but it's in a historical building. There are a few display cases with artifacts relating to cavalry in the Civil War. There have guns, belts, bullets and the like. They also have a lot of artwork. The museum is small (only one room), so you can make it through in about 30 minutes. Where this place shines is the staff of volunteers who are very knowledgeable about local history. I learned a lot about the old houses I've been driving by for years.
If you want to see a ton of artifacts and get a bigger picture of Civil War history, you're probably better heading down the road to Manassas, but if you want some local history, this place is good.
