The Oyster Farm Eatery is a Cape Charles waterfront, upscale setting with excellent staff and menu options. If you like oysters, this place is a MUST! We are oyster aficionados and the raw oysters here are some of the best we've eaten, the fried oysters are delightful as well. Well worth the short ride off Rt. 13, especially at sunset!

My wife and I have been wanting to try TOFSE for a while now, and finally a camping trip across the CBBT to the Chesapeake Bay KOA provided us the right opportunity.

The building and the view are spectacular, as we had a perfect crisp fall afternoon sunset (despite the ships berthed off Cape Charles...). The extra-large fish tank was so cool, but as a long-time boating and fishing person on the Chesapeake Bay, I was surprised there were not native saltwater fish in the tank as I have seen in VA Beach eateries. Parking was easy in this new upscale development.

The food was great all the way around. As we do with most new restaurants we try, we opted for lots of appetizers so we could try a variety of things. My wife started with steamed Ruby Salt oysters, taken from the Bay just north of TOFSE. Salty with a touch of sweetness, they we delicious. I had a bowl of their Hatteras-style clam chowder (clear broth) which was some of the best I've had...mine is still No.1 !!!! Next was their Caesar salad with fried oysters, which we split.....yum. Their lemon dressing was a nice touch as it went well with our Church Creek steel chard, our No.1 local wine to pair with oysters. The main courses were Thai Curry Clams, loaded with Littlenecks, for me and perfectly seared tuna with seaweed salad for my wife, her favorite dish I think as she loves her tuna. Their high-quality piece of tuna was a good as it gets.

We had started off with pumpkin Mules but had let them sit after the wine arrived. So, for dessert we ordered the pumpkin Crème Brule and Mike, our very fun and incredibly informative waitperson, brought us some more ice for our drinks. A perfect end to a perfect meal.

Well, it wasn't quite the end of the experience. We headed to the bar to catch the very end of the Redskin-Cowboys game and ran into the Manager, who happened to be a typically snooty Dallas fan. She was the only negative of the evening as the Cowboys losing to our Skins did not make her happy, and she let us know. Oh well, I'm sure she and her husband will eventually get over it.....or not. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will return as soon as we can as the view, food, and Mike, were that good....thanks.
