“Delightful in every way!”

My husband & I escaped to this quaint & beautiful B&B for the weekend. We were totally taken with the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere! Carol & Bruce were so gracious, and FUN to be around! We were invited to join in the festivities for the weekend ~ the Tall Ships were there, as well as a town full of great restaurants, shops & warm beaches. After kicking back & enjoying the "Pirates & Winches" Ball, we felt completely relaxed! What a delightful town full of community zeal & support. Carol is an extraordinary cook (chef really!), - she utilizes fresh herbs from her garden, & presents a picture-perfect breakfast that's full of flavor! Cape Charles House B&B should literally be on everyone's Bucket List - it's a memory that will always bring a smile, and will hold a warm spot in our heart!!

Memorial Day 2013 brought us to Cape Charles, VA for the WW ll ribbon cutting ceremony at the Easter Shore of VA National Wildlife Refuge. I was instrumental in saving a WW ll Navy 16/50 Caliber Mark VII, USS Missouri Gun Barrel to be placed in the refuge WW III bunker. It was a very important weekend for my wife and I.
I had been stationed at the refuge for the past 3 years before retirement and knew of Cape Charles House B&B. This stay at Cape Charles House was the most delightful and relaxing weekend we had ever experienced. The place was wonderfully decorated with memorabilia, antiques, and history. The breakfasts were 5 star delicious. Bruce and Carol were the finest hosts with attention to detail. The evenings were delightful with wine, cheese and snacks mixed with meeting new friends.
Our first experience with a bed and breakfast at Cape Charles House was a most pleasant experience. In the future other B&B's will be compared to Cape Charles House. I highly recommend to anyone seeking a special stay.

Thank you Alan for selecting Cape Charles House for your very important Memorial Weekend stay. It was truly an honor to celebrate and recognize your most recent passion of seeing the "Big Gun" installed at the Eastern Shore Wildlife Refuge. We were so proud that you were instumental in saving such a remarkable piece of World War II history. We also hope that you will consider returning for the "Pow-Wow" next year in Eastville. You and Katie are always welcome to put your heads in our beds and feet under our table! We really appreciate your generous comments!

I can't say enough good things about Cape Charles House... the hosts, the house, the room, Mr. Kitty and the food - ALL fabulous! The homemade muffins were amazing! Also, I'm very picky about my coffee and their coffee was most excellent! It was our first time in Cape Charles and we'll definitely be back and back at the Cape Charles house for sure! I really appreciate their willingness to help with any questions we had and always had a moment to chat with us. I never felt like I was interrupting them. The wine and cheese in the evenings was a nice treat as well. Thank you Carol and Bruce for your supreme hospitality and wonderful recommendations. By the way, we ended up stopping by the gorgeous gardens on our way out of town. WOW!!! Hope to see you again very soon.

The Cape Charles House was the perfect place to escape for a long weekend. The innkeepers were attentive and provided a delicious, generously portioned, homemade breakfast each morning as well as evening wine, crackers and cheese. They were quick to offer suggestions for local places to visit and activities that were available. Overall, a terrific experience that we would highly recommend. Amber & Mike

The only unfortunate part of our stay at the Cape Charles House is that we were only there for one night. The best part is that we felt we had been away for a whole week...re-entering civilization was so hard.

The ambience here is like you had been transported back to a time when stress was not part of your daily life. The community of Cape Charles is like 'Mayberry' and the Inn envelopes you in peace as soon as you arrive. Sitting on the porch is heaven. Breakfast, while tasting divine, was beautiful to look at. Everything had Carol's special, creative touch.

I miss Carol and Bruce and cannot wait to go back. What a beautiful place they offer...it is what a bed and breakfast should be.

Room Tip: Every room is special.

Staying with Bruce and Carol remains a fond memory of my recent Virginia trip! I spent four days at their gorgeous historical home and felt as if I was part of the family. Conveniently situated at the tip of the peninsula, it made a perfect destination for a quiet trip on my own to the eastern shore. Besides waking up to the aromas of coffee and Carol's gourmet breakfasts wafting through the air, it is also a bright, clean, sunny home filled with opportunities to relax, read, sit on the porch, or hang out with Mr Kitty. Having access to the kitchen for snacks and drinks really helped make it easy to relax as well. Every evening, complimentary wine, cheese and crackers are served, which also adds to the welcome home.
Cape Charles is a quaint friendly town filled with delightful places to visit, shop, eat and enjoy nature. Particularly adventurous to me was the visit to the Kings Creek Marina where I kayaked, biked around, swam and dined at Aqua restaurant.
I will definitely recommend a visit to Cape Charles House B&B, merely a few blocks from the sandy beach where you can enjoy watching kite surfing, swimming in quiet waters, walking on the beach and being one with mother nature.

I stayed the 2nd weekend in May, 2013, and had a great time! All I wanted to do was relax, and I did! The huge wrap around front porch is where I made part of myself at home. However, Bruce and Carol made the rest of my stay so nice! I felt like a part of their family immediately and enjoyed Carols's cooking and Bruce's hospitality, 2nd to none! I hated to leave, but look forward to seeing them again.
