So we ventured to Cape Charles completely off season when almost everything is closed; HOWEVER, because we picked this fantastic B & B we had a great time. Bruce and Carol were gracious and lovely. We have stayed at several B&Bs and this is by far one of the best! The house is amazing in and of itself. It is part of the historic district of Cape Charles and is full of antiques and decor to follow suit.
So first, before I say anything else, I have to say that this woman can cook ....I mean really cook. My girlfriend and I are COMPLETE foodies and we were in gourmet heaven. Everything is fresh, delciious, creative, and plentiful. The breakfast is 3 courses and well worth a trip to Cape Charles if for nothing else. The coffee is also wonderful - it is a special blend made specifically for Cape Charles House B&B. Not to mention, Carol completely won my heart over when she sent us on our road trip back to NYC with a big plate of freshly baked muffins :) Yum, yum, yum! Besides the wonderful service and fantastic food that Bruce and Carol provided, we shared such great moments of conversation. Bruce and Carol are very involved in the community and they have a wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of the area, which is very important to my girlfriend and I . They shared all of this information so graciously and usually over a delicious snack of some sort....seriously her muffins are THE best. They even have ALL of the menus from all nearby restaurants readily at hand to make recommendations if you would like them.
The rooms were immaculate and beautiful. We were very comfortable in our room and had a great mattress. Cape Charles provided us with some desperately needed deep sleep.
I would recommend and urge anyone in the Cape Charles area to stay in this wonderful B&B in or off season. I know we hope to be back soon :)
