With our dog in tow we were greeted like old friends by the Ned, the manager. After some general information about the Hotel Cape Charles, Ned showed us to our room located just off the patio with easy access to the main lobby and common room. Since the hotel is located downtown everything is in walking distance and perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. Their continental breakfast includes wonderful, homemade granola and yogurt. We were glad we chose Hotel Cape Charles for the Tall Ships weekend getaway!

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have balconies that overlook the harbor.

After checking out the hotel in November and being very pleased with our stay we recommended to the guests of our son's wedding. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable in a perfect location. The staff(thank you Ned) made our friends and family feel very welcome(we had most of the rooms in the hotel). We received positive comments from everyone who stayed there. The Hotel Cape Charles is a gem. Thank you for helping to make the wedding weekend special for our guests.

Everything you might want for a relaxing get away. The hotel is well appointed, clean, with extremely modern and comfortable bedrooms. The management was attentive to all details and very helpful. Loved the freshly made granola and an excellent cup of tea. Even the sea glass in the foyer lends itself to the subtle contemporary tone as you enter. Without a doubt the innkeepers make this experience memorable. Enjoyed the balcony and sitting outside overlooking the tall ships. We can't wait to return!

Bedding was sumptious, never slept that well in my life. Small breakfast, wish there was something more but it was good. Staff were beyond excellent. Loved the closeness to the restaurants and stores. Would like to return for a longer stay.

My husband and I spent one night here in mid-May. We both remarked how the hotel would have fit easily in DC, Baltimore, or NYC, and probably would have been out of our price range in any of those cities. It's a chic property that's also warm and friendly, which is a rare combination. They have top-end amenities and a lovely continental breakfast with amazing homemade granola. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: There are only about 15 rooms, so it's hard to find a bad one!

First, a huge thanks to Ned, Pam and the rest of the staff for an excellent stay!

We arrived late on a Saturday evening for a quick two-night getaway. Pam welcomed us with a BIG greeting that was great after a long day on the road. We were checked-in and given a couple of recommendations for a late dinner (keep in mind, a "late" dinner in this great small town is around 9:00 p.m.!). Some dinner and a restful night's sleep later and we were ready to face our Sunday!

The small touches at the Hotel Cape Charles are what really make it shine: the bathroom fixtures, big, comfortable beds and tasty light breakfast, to name a few. My wife particularly enjoyed the locally-made granola at breakfast and the dedicated make-up cloths in the bathroom, tied with a ribbon.

We can't say enough about both the Hotel and the town. We really enjoyed our stay. Most everything (beach, restaurants, shopping) is within walking distance and everything else is a very short drive away.

We will definitely be back and hopefully very soon! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Great hotel with the most comfortable bed and pillows. I enjoyed the contemporary decor. There was a small balcony off the room overlooking the main road and the bathroom was nicely layed out with a good shower/bath. The hotel is well situated in this little town and one can walk to the beach and restaurants. I would recommend room 14 which is on the corner, overlooking the street. Don't expect a picturesque beach setting but there is significant charm in the street to make up for this and there is no better location. The breakfast was disappointing; juice, yoghurt and granola, however there are other places nearby to eat.

Room Tip: Room 14 overlooks the main road, is on the corner. There is no street noise.
