“Quiet and beautiful”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Cape Charles is definitely the hidden gem of the Eastern Shore. Don't go looking for a lot of adventure though - this is a relaxing, get-away-from-it-all town. The beach has fantastic parking and is incredibly calm (it's on the bay side), though fillllllllled with crabs. There is a nice pier that my husband and I spent nearly an hour on, bent over the sides watching the crabs stalk the little fishes.

“Lazy Beach Days”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

Be prepared to totally unwind, relax, and enjoy some fresh local seafood. Make sure to bring provisions in case of rain (books, games, dvd's) cause this is truly a lazy beach town and other than a few shops, there isn't much to do. That being said, I enjoyed my visit very much and will return. Total and complete relaxation is the daily grind at Cape Charles. There is a golf course you can play if that's your fancy. And there are kayak trips and wave runners to rent. There are a few kitschy gift shops, seafood restaurants, coffee shop and ice cream shop. Really, what more does me need to chill out on holiday. Check it out!

“Nice quiet beach on the bay”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

It's quiet, family oriented, has a nice pier and some historic plaques around to explain the historic significance of the beach and area.

A great place to put your toes in the sand and watch the huge freighters go in and out of the bay. Good food nearby, a nice main street and wonderful lodging.

“Beautiful sunset!”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

This beach is wonderful for young children and folks who don't want to spend a lot of time riding waves. It is about a half mile long. I enjoyed walking the beach and watching a delightful sunset. The pier is nice and long as well with abundant croaker fishing.
