“Terrible”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Flys all over food. Breakfast and lunch waitress' were rude and loud. Resturant is dirty food was cold and seems like there is no management what so ever. Kitchen staff were friendlier than anyone else

“Off the beaten path, and a great value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

We decided to go up Rt. #52 for a few miles to take a break from the interstate and found this gem. Good country cooking is getting hard to find. After years of flat strip dumplings, it was wonderful to see the thick biscuit type (bad description but some of you will know what I mean). Pinto beans and corn muffins, fried chicken, and lima beans were some of the items on the menu, and they had a good salad bar. We ate here on a Sunday, I'm not sure if they have a buffet everyday but the meal was great and so was the service.

“Grandma's house”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

The food reminded me of grandma's house! Everything seasoned with fatback, something I don't use anymore but grew up on. Service and value are excellent. I will return when in this area.

“Family Style”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

We drive by this restaurant whenever we go to Cana and it seems to always be busy. We decided to stop and give it a try since we did not eat in Mount Airy. We had the buffet which was reasonable for $6.25. The salad items were fresh and the cole slaw was particularly good. However the rest of the buffet wasn't the best. The fried chicken was very greasy with soft instead of crispy skin. The meatloaf was dry and somewhat flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade and the bread pudding was worth having. But really what made the meal was the service. Excellent and very friendly! Only wish the food had been as good since I'm not sure we'll stop again for that reason.
