“Wow!!”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

We were in search of something that wasn't fast food. Yay!! This place is definitely on the "must stop in again" list! We all enjoyed the atmosphere and company. The menu was great and the breakfast was even better.. Hot coffee! Great Find!

“BEST OF ITS KIND”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

This review is based on a dinner and a breakfast. If you want to take a step back in time when "comfort" food" was actually excellent eating, then go to the Fountain Grill in Buchanan, Virginia--just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hamburgers we had for dinner were superb, and the ham and cheese omelets at breakfast were the best we have ever had. The owner is proud of his cooking and with good reason. The service is not only good, but the staff was very friendly. In the future any time we are near Buchanan we will go to the Fountain Grill--even if it means driving extra miles. A REAL FIND.

“You don't see many like this anymore!”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Great old school lunch counter. Incredibly friendly service, great food, unreal prices. Set in a throwback drugstore, we had a great lunch here. Sandwiches and salads were excellent, and prices were unbelievably low. Can't beat that! People were so friendly that I would love to catch up with them again. These kinds of places are too few and far between. Completely worth the detour of I-81, rather than usual fast food. Great hikes nearby are also totally worth it. Can't wait to go again!

“Go back in time!!!!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

WOW!! What a great place to eat. The atmosphere takes you back to the 50s, fixtures, furniture AND service. They have a rather extensive menu to be as small as they are and the food is excellent AND very reasonably priced! The staff was awesome and spent alot of time making us welcome..GIve it a try..you will NOT be disappointed!!

“great breakfast”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Small town gem. nice, friendly service, good food- loved their biscuits, over-medium eggs were perfect, and my husband loved the biscuits with gravy. Our 5yo learned what a juke-box was! One down side was that when we tried to call to find out their hours, we found 3 different phone numbers listed for the place, none of which were correct- glad we stopped anyway. and the swinging bridge a couple of blocks away was a nice diversion.
