“Beautiful, artsy, local flavor, free family fun too!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

If you want a great time and are traveling on I-81 north take exit 3, if you are traveling south take exit 5, to enjoy FREE family fun, do the "Caterpillar Crawl" a downtown scavenger hunt, which kids and adults will enjoy, start at the public library, where you get your scavenger hunt map, which is next door the the Blackbird Bakery....yum yum, get your map, and find the little bronze caterpillars hidden throughout the beautiful downtown area, based on the children’s book "The very hungry caterpillar". Check out great arts and crafts shops, a great pawn shop, which has a genuine soda shop style lunch counter! Eat at "Eatz on Moore Street, and go back to the Blackbird bakery, and get your goodies and walk across the street to the “war memorial/veterans park" and finish your trip downtown in a perfect fashion!

“The Place to Go”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

Traversing State Street is fun by yourself but truly great with others. There are numerous specialty shops, great places to eat, plentiful parking, art and antique stores. You name it - you'll find it on State Street, plus great music events throughout the year...in the Street and at the Paramount. Plus, stand in the middle of the street and you will be standing in two states (TN and VA) at the same time.

“Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion was a hit again.”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Just returned from the BRRR. Again this year the music was outstanding. Only $35 for a three day pass to see over 150 bands perform, bluegrass, country, blues, etc. We took our 20 year old son and his girlfriend and they loved it also. There are many local bands which we had never heard of that were great. We bought 5 CD's of groups we loved. Parking is free, food is very reasonable. During any downtime we shopped the many vendors and local antique stores and pawn shop. A wonderful, relaxing weekend.

“Great venue for a concert”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

We visited State St. for a concert in August, and this was a great place to go see a show. The main street had outdoor seating set up for the event, and there were great food and drink deals all up and down the street. I would love to come back and see another show here.
