“Like Staying with Family”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We felt welcome as soon as we walked in the door, as the inn keepers, Jim and Christine, are very warm and friendly people. They offer their help at every turn. Room 3 was quite nice, with a comfy king bed and a reading/TV area in addition to the large bedroom. The breakfasts, were delicious, and some of the best that we have had at B&B's. We were especially thankful, since we had been eating hotel breakfasts that included pancakes that were extruded from a machine.

We have stayed at a lot of B&B's, so our reference for five stars is pretty high. And there were a few issues, the most important being that the air conditioner sounded like a "freight train gong through the bedroom", to quote my wife.

However, all in all this is a high quality and delightful B&B that I would stay at again and again.

thank you so much for your feedback and particularly, letting us know about the noisy air conditioner.... we have it mounted in a metal window frame and it needs to be re-padded again. We've added the task to our to-do list!

Our two night stay was a real pleasure. The breakfasts were delicious and took place in a beautiful Victorian dining room. We had two rooms, numbers 4 and 5. Both were meticulously clean, quiet and comfortable. Many thanks to Jim and Christine for making all those things happen.

Room Tip: Room 4 has a television and nice architectural appeal. Room 5 is small, but the bathroom is nice and...

We cannot rate this b&b highly enough. The breakfast was phenomenal, the room was large and beautiful, and the owners could not have been more hospitable. We also stumbled into an in-home concert series that the b&b hosts, and it was such a great surprise to sip iced tea and listen to a great musician at a private concert.

There many parks and vineyards in the area for entertainment, but you can also just wander through Blackstone itself or spend the evening on their wraparound porch. It was the perfect few days outside of the city, and we really hope to go back.

This is an overdue review of our lovely stay at the Grey Swan Inn in March of this year. Jim and Christine took fine care of us as we explored the area doing historical research. Quiet, understated, comfortable, with marvelous breakfasts and home-roasted coffee — need we say more? We'll be back.

This was a wonderful experience from the minute we hit the front porch. Not only is it in a quaint little town , only a walk away from downtown but it is endearing inside. Full of history and anything you could possibly need the inn keepers work diligeltly to meet your every need. The rooms were wonderful and the meals were anything but ordinary. I look forward to my next visit!

I have stayed at the Grey Swan Inn twice now, both times with a traveling companion who has a gluten insensitivity and dairy allergy. The hospitality is outstanding, the rooms are extremely well-appointed, comfortable, and charming: Jim & Christine have thought of EVERYthing. My family loves to read AND catch up on electronic thingies... no problem doing both, or just hanging out and playing games, or taking wonderful walks or exploring, or getting a great meal off-site, or visiting with Jim, Christine, or the other guests. But the REAL reason you have to stay here as often as possible is the phenomenal food. From home-roasted spectacular coffee (and we are "snobs" in that department) or unusual yummy tea to the perfect presentation of gourmet delights that fit every need. We even managed to visit during Passover and not have ANY "chametz" (bread or flour). Incredible!

Room Tip: They're all nice - your needs will determine which one. Some have tv's, and the bed sizes d...

Christine and Jim hosted me for a Concerts In Your Home event, which brought a dozen friends and travelers into the the B&B for some sweet treats and a concert. They host these on a monthly basis and they're free to guests, so if you're looking for an excuse... In the meantime the room was comfortable (and I'm picky about beds) with water and snacks available, and the breakfast in the morning was exceptional, with each component just right, from the fresh fruit to eggs to home fries, sausage, biscuits fresh from the oven and Christine's pumpkin butter. They've really found a nice balance in their approach. As nice an experience as I've had in a B & B.
