On August 1 2008 we went to the Parkway Restaurant...we had gone there for our "honeymoon" dinner in 1994 and was very pleased with the food. We have been several times since 1994 and each time the quality had been on the decline but we wanted to try something different. The drive to the location was beautiful as always, deer standing on the side of the road eating grass, beautiful trees and views of the cities around. When we got to the restaurant we were told we could not make reservations, it was first come first serve basis unless you were a paying guest such as staying in a room, so we just registered with the hostess and waited to be called, which worked out fine because there was not many there to eat. When we went in and were seated we waited and waited for the waitress to take our drink orders but none was to be found. Now there were only maybe seven tables that had been seated and the others on the other side had already been waited on by another waitress. We went to get our food and came back and I asked for the waitress. Finally she came and tood our orders for drinks. For $26.99 a person we could have all we wanted to eat, well the food was very limited, frog legs, scallops, fish, chicken, very small crab legs (dry, with no flavor), stuffed crabs, shrimp, salad, and a few vegetables were all. The shrimp was good, scallops were good also, but the food was very bland and not much flavor to any of it. The crab legs were so small we only got one section to try and it was dry and had no flavor whatsoever, that was the main reason we went there to eat. This was nothing like we had in 1994 for less money, and it "certainly" was not worth $26.99 a person. The service was terrible, we had a waitress that would try to tranfer food from a plate that had food left on it to a plate that had less food and she would end up dumping it on the floor around us and on the empty seats at our table, when we got through our dinner it looked like we had dropped half our food in the floor. We will never go back to this restaurant again, which is such a shame for us because we ate our "honeymoon" dinner there but it is not worth the money and the service is terrible. Such a hefty price to pay for the view and ride up there to eat!!
