“All We Hoped!”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

Our evening at Millstone Tea Room was excellent from the moment Charlotte greeted us at the door til our walk around the lovely farmhouse after dinner. The mixed mushrooms on grits appetizer was excellent. The chilled tomato soup offered cool relief from the steamy VA evening. Our entrees were yummy- pork chop with mac & cheese and a creative summer bean/gravy/sauce and shrimp & grits. The surroundings were cozy. It is about 20 minutes from Bedford through gorgeous VA countryside. We hope to go back one day!

“Perfect!”
Reviewed June 8, 2012

We recently attended a wedding reception here and everything was perfect! The food was delicious, the atmosphere added to the experience and the employees were friendly and very cordial. Best tasty Southern cooking. The Shrimp and Grits were excellent! Loved it!

“A hidden jem”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

We had been thinking of checking this place out for a while but just didn't want to make the drive from the New River Valley where we live or from Lynchburg when visiting our extended family. We finally did this past Saturday night and I want to say how impressed I was. The atmosphere was quaint but charming. Our meal was great and the service was fantastic. The meal took 2 hours but nothing was slow or rushed. A couple of signs I look for in a fining dining establishment: good bread and home made desserts. The french bread was awesome (fresh and hot right out of the oven) and the desserts were incredible. It was just a great experience. I can't wait to go back.

“Worth the drive for a great evening”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Been to the Millstone Tea Room three times and have been impressed with the service and the food quality. We actually made last minute reservations (party of 9) on a Saturday and sat outside on the lit up porch. It was a beautiful evening and the temperature outsidewas just right.
I thought the portion sizes were just right except for the Duck. (Leg)
The steak was huge and I ended up eating it for leftovers the next day. The macaroni and cheese was very good.
Trout was awesome.
Shrimp and Grits- another solid dish.
And if you like ice cream then you have to try the homemade cinnamon ice cream!
The price does reflect the food and atmosphere so be prepared to spend a little.
Have fun!

“A Bucolic Delight”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

A wonderful restaurant in a bucolic, out of the way setting. There are no bad meals on any of their menus. Lots of fresh vegetables and herbs grown on the property. Reservations a must.
