We stayed at Senedo Springs at the condo buidings on Bryce Mountain. Here are the positives and negatives and other things to know.

I will say this first. It's very hard to find their office. Your GPS will take you to it, but it's meshed in with a diner/pancake place. Look for the car wash and turn in betwe the carwash and diner place. Go all the way to the end of the parking lot. There is an abandoned house there. The office is at the end of the building. Go up the steps.

Positives:
-Area:
*Beautiful scenery
*quit
*things to do on low/no budget
*Bryce Resort is down the mountain. You have access to their one pool and also Lake Laura. Lake Laura has a great hiking trail, Kayaking, paddle boating, and fishing. You can rent a canoe to fish out in the lake too. The trail is all terrain, but I was able to do it with my baby in her jogger stroller. Be aware of animals. I saw dear and a beaver, but there are bear in this area. There is a beach on the lake with no life guard. There is a public pool and playground near as well. There is a bridge that connects the lake area to it should you want to park and walk to either. WARNING- the walk up to the lake beach is a doozy!

-Rental:
The condo is only 1.5 baths which is kind of silly. The master BR has the half bath but there is room for them to install a shower. The mattresses were comfy, clean. Linens were clean. Kitchen had adequate space as well as the living rm/dining rm areas. There is a nice back deck/porch. They provide 2 chairs and a small table. Word to the wise, bring a hurricane lamp or similar. If you keep the porch light on, many crazy moths and large bees come to hang out. We heard a bear down the mountain one night. There is a picnic table area to the side of the condos with a beautiful view. The weather was warm during the day and lovely at night. We sat on the deck with a sweater or sweatshirt on. Dishwasher, stove are fine. The washer/dryer is a bit small. Bring your own detergents and stuff. They supply very little or none.

Negatives:
*SPIDERS! Ugh! we killed several. That may not bother many, but I'm an arachnophob! I bought bug spray and sprayed the perimeter of our room and under the bed where 3 bigger ones were hanging out! EWWW!
*SMMMMEEEELLLLY water. The water smells like eggs or a funky fart. It's the sulfur in the mountain water. If you think you can deal with it, bring a 3-5 gal of water for cooking and coffee since the water will alter the taste of everything. Bathing in it sucks too.
*There is nothing you can get to without driving.
*The carpets need a really good steaming! My daughters feet were black every night. She's only 1.5yrs old so slipper aren't possible for her to keep on
*Terrible cell coverage and no wireless.****THERE IS wireless at the airport/library. You can connect from the parking lot.

Things to do/need to know:
-The nearest Walmart in Woodstock (40mins or so away)
-Save-A-lot and Food Lion in Mt. Jackson as well as a Denny's.
-You can mini-gulf, dry tub, golf, ziplining.
-Shenandoah caverns has 3 attractions and it's about 30 mins away.
-Lurray Caverns/Skyline Drive is approx 1hr 20 mins away but worth the drive. Check for events at Skyland Resort in Shenandoah National Park (which skyline runs through). We found they had a Smores festival. Was nice for kids and wine for the adults :-)
-Massanutten is 1hr away and has an indoor water park.
-Bryce Resort has pamphlets and the lady is very informative.
-Bring board games and cards to keep ya busy for rainy days or etc.

Honestly, I'd say stay at Bryce mountain, but a lot of their condos/houses are driving distance too.

Room Tip: This was a time share for us.

Condo interior was serously dated and smelled of hard water. My spouse referred to this place as "Deliverance" from the movie. Condos need a serious makeover asi think interior was new in late 1980's. This is a true mountain experience so you better have a 4 wheel drive with horsepower to get up steep hills and pray for peffect weather. Cannot imagine this in the winter. The condo was very remote to say the least which would be good if the walls weren't thin. Hallway showed signs of attempted break in. There are NO amenities to be found anywhere close to this place and car is a must. Lake Laura is a hike from the parking lot which is over a mile away from the condo itself.

Wow. Loved the town, the woods, and the loft duplex. So relaxing. And the price, $320 for seven nights out of season (summer). Great place for kids. Very safe. Mine are grown but kept thinking how they would have loved it when they were younger. Grocery store in Mount Jackson so with the full kitchen, can save $. Traveled south two hours and saw Montpelier, Ash Lawn, and Montichello. Traveled north two hours and visited D.C. and Mount Vernon. Traveled 20 min. to Luray Caverns, which has great car collection. The Shannondoah Nat' Park is 20 min. away. Beautiful. Temperpedic beds also. This was one of my favorite vacations.

We were supposed to check in to the condo on a Saturday. We arrived to the office late at night and found it to be closed. Since there was no cell phone service in the area, we had to resort to finding another hotel for the evening. We returned in the morning and saw that there were hours posted on the window, and the next time the office was open was Monday morning. There was a notation of a number to call in case of emergency, and the directions said to wait there for a response. We called that number twice and waited for over a half hour and never received a call back. Finally we went to a nearby restaurant to inquire about the condo office. That manager was able to get a hold of someone who worked for the resort. She finally came to check us in. She didn't offer any apology. She was quite rude and not very accomodating. We were told she didn't answer her voice mail because Sunday was her only day off. She gave a lecture on making sure we arrive on time to check in to places. Nowhere on the reservation paperwork did it say certain hours of checking in. The condo itself was wonderful, but it is a very poorly run place with poor customer service. For that reason I'm likely to never return.
