The newly renovated inn has both bold and muted colors reflecting a crisp design sense more often associated with urban hotels. The amenities and finishes are elegant while eclectic--post-modern lamps combine with throw pillows provide accent colors befitting the decor. There is nothing stuffy here though. The innkeepers are congenial and helpful, moving their own vehicle so we could keep our motorcycles under cover. Always ready with suggestions for dinner, they are intent on ensuring a pleasant experience for their guests.

I would advise anyone going to Vermont to stay at the Snapdragon Inn. It is a lovely Inn run by lovely people. It has the best of everything, is immaculate and the breakfast buffet is SO good! We have never stayed at a place we liked more.

A wonderful surprise stands in the midst of the beautiful and quaint village of Windsor, Vermont. We found the lovely Snapdragon Inn on google.maps and I am so glad we did. The Inn surpassed our expectations - the structure, the woodwork, flooring, rooms, ambience, the price - all combined to give the feeling of casual elegance. We had Room 6 King which was so tastefully furnished and decorated and created a very serene "home away from home". The bath towels were the fluffiest I have ever experienced, every detail of the inn, down to the photographs on the wall taken by one of the owners, were a special treat. My daughter and I spent only one night but tried to take advantage of all that was offered - playing cards or reading out on the rockers on the back deck, playing piano, walking to the back of the property which opens onto Paradise Pond, strolling the village to see kids somersaulting down a steep grassy hill and listening to a jazz band playing outside on a summer night at the senior center in the middle of town. This 9 room inn would be fantastic for a small business meeting or a family gathering. We enjoyed all of the innkeepers very much and are impressed by the fact that they have lovingly restored much of this beautiful inn themselves. We hope to return often to the Snapdragon Inn, a true gem in the heart of Windsor, the birthplace of Vermont!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely.

This inn is in a house that was previously owned by family of mine for many, many years. As a kid, I was in and out of this house as well as the other homes on the "estate." I was a little nervous about staying in it as a guest, and not as family, and also to see what had been done to it.

I couldn't have been more pleased. The restoration was lovingly done, and the house has never looked better. The atmosphere is elegant, but understated, just as an old Puritan house should be. :-) Simple decor allows the beauty of the floors and the building itself to shine forth. As I told the innkeepers, I was so happy to see that it didn't look like a Laura Ashley catalog had exploded therein.

The rooms are extremely comfortable. In fact, with the windows open, curled up in the cozy, cozy, plush bed, I almost didn't want to get up. I did, however, and enjoyed coffee and delicious homemade coffeecake on the back porch. Both nights, I enjoyed a hot bath in the clawfoot tub.

The innkeepers are warm and welcoming, and I had a delightful stay. Cousin Bert, I think, would be pleased.

My recent stay at the Snapdragon was close to perfect. The property was the ideal setting to meet old college friends for an impromptu "reunion". We were able to make great use of the library and fantastic back porch as we caught up on each others lives.
Walks to the adjacent Lake Runnemede and evenings spent spotting fireflies were the icing on the cake.
Make sure to enjoy the excellent continental breakfast!

Who could have guessed that such a lovely, old home could provide such quiet, inviting luxury? My stay was made perfect by the helpful staff and their recomendations for sights and eats. The feather beds were pure heaven and the peaceful porches provided all the relaxation I needed, but a few steps to a beautiful, quiet lake or down a small village street with shops and authentic New England atmosphere kept me busy when I wanted.
Great inn. Great people. Great town.
