The Nutmeg Country Inn is everything one dreams of when picturing a Bed and Breakfast, and so much more. Yes, it is in a lovely area. The Inn itself is picturesque and while full of antiques and history, is not antiquated. The interior is well appointed and and lovingly cared for. We very recently were married and we booked the Honeymoon Suite. Joy! The suite was cozy and large with a private balcony and French doors. The large, comfortable and handsome bed, invited you to never leave. A fireplace and HUGE whirlpool tub completed the experience. Exquisite staff, who were more than accommodating. From the first step into the Inn, where a personalized tour of the facilities took place, to the gracious farewells upon departure, The Nutmeg Inn staff and owners were kind, intelligent and fun. The breakfast was sublime (we stayed for three days and so we were able to sample everything!) and served with a smile that made me look forward to mornings. In the early evening it was a pleasure to have a complementary glass of wine and meet other guests from all over the world and I highly recommend the Cabernet! Doug and Gio, Thank you for opening your lovely home. Wendy and Mark, we really consider you both to be outstanding people and friends. Am I gushing about The Nutmeg? You bet!

Room Tip: I had the luxury of viewing several rooms due to making friends there..I don't think you can go...

Wendy and Gio and the Nutmeg crew made our recent weekend in Vermont a true delight. The Inn was well situated, close to town and close to major ski areas and Molly Stark scenic route. We went to the Stratton Fall Festival and it wasnt far away. The Inn was immaculate and well decorated. It was quiet too, we felt like the only people there at times. They serve a complimentary glass of wine by the fireside in the early evening. Our room also had a wood burning fireplace which we would have used had it been cooler! We stayed in the two bedroom suite and it was perfect for our family of four. The french toast breakfast was outstanding, we all ordered it! Before we arrived we inquired about apple picking orchards and Wendy directed us to a bunch that were close by. Apple picking and antiquing were among the highlights of our weekend in Southern Vermont. I will definitely return to the Nutmeg Inn for a ski weekend this winter. All of the rooms looked lovely, you can't go wrong. Im so thrilled that Tripadvisor sent us in the right direction once again!! Thanks Wendy and Gio!

Room Tip: Suite 11 was perfect for two couples or a family of four.

When you look from outside, you can't imagine how it's well cared and cozy inside. Well decorated, very spacious, big and comfortable bed (room nr. 2). Breakfast was good, and every evening they offer complimentary wine during happy hour. Nothing to complain, highly recommended.

We picked this lovely B+B online and the pictures don't do it justice! The inn and the staff were so warm and inviting. Our room was quaint and charming---and very quite. The living room and bar area were neat and sooooo cosy. We absolutely loved it! The inn is restored impeccably Wendy and Doug were wonderful. The breakfast sitting area and food were amazing. Can't say enough good things about the inn. We're trying to plan another trip to visit the Nutmeg :o)

The Nutmeg Country Inn is five star for sure! I can't imagine someone not enjoying there stay here. Friendly owners & staff, great breakfast, clean rooms, good location. I think that's all you can really expect from a good B&B. One of the things we liked was the wood burning fire place in our room. It's nice to come back to your room after dinner & light a fire on a cold night. They also have a small lounge/bar with wine & beer you can charge to your room. Another nice touch. This was our second visit & we will be returning for a third! We had a great time & highly recommend the Nutmeg Country Inn.

We were very excited to get away for a long weekend. We decided, by viewing their website, that we would book 4 nights at Nutmeg Country Inn. We LOVED it! From the moment you enter the inn, you are welcomed with open arms. The ambiance is amazing. We had room #9 (which I would highly recommend), that has a fireplace. We were lulled to sleep every night by the crackling fireplace and the cozy bed. Breakfast was appetizing, and then we were off to explore the area. Doug and Geo made every effort to insure our stay was relaxing, and boy was it! We will definitely stay again and would encourage anyone to give The Nutmeg Inn a try. You won't be disappointed. This inn is definitely a 5 star inn in our book.

Room Tip: Even though Room #9 was on the back side of the Inn, I would recommend any room. The owners have in...

My mom and I stayed at The Nutmeg Inn Sept. 6th-10th, 2012. The Inn is charming and the owners, Doug and Geo, have done a beautiful job restoring the Inn. We actually met another woman who was visiting who used to be a previous owner and she showed us pictures of how it used to be and described some of the great changes the guys have made. Doug gave us a tour and we got to see several of the rooms. Each room was beautifully decorated and cozy. The sitting rooms are beautifully done. Everyone who greeted us or helped us was friendly and welcoming. The dining room is lovely, and the tables are elegantly set. Breakfasts were delicious and filling - you choose your breakfasts the night before and the time you'll be down for breakfast, and the next morning when you get seated, it's only mere minutes before your breakfast is on the table. People having breakfast at the same time are friendly and the place has a nice feel about it. We came at a lovely time of year - the weather was in the 70's during the day and we only had one day and night of rain. On the day we came in, we spent a nice quiet time out in their garden (which has a nice bench to sit on and enjoy the flowers), we walked on the grounds and behind the grounds on a nice little trail in the wooded area there, and then we came back and were able to relax outside on the chairs and chaise lounges. The crickets and the birds chirping, beautiful weather - it was really relaxing and just lovely. On the night it rained, we lit a fire with the wood and kindling they left us in the room. Really enjoyable stay. We had 3 of us and rented room 11 - the only one with 2 bedrooms. Room 12, which was next door to us, is a fantastic room, with a nice king-sized four poster bed, a sunken living room with fireplace, a nice deck off of the living room, and a nice sized bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The stairs are a little steep, so if you or anyone you are traveling with has issues going up and down stairs, rent out one of the downstairs rooms. You won't be disappointed - all the rooms have their own distinct feel and charm - they are all wonderful! If I come back to southern Vermont, I would love to come back to stay at the Nutmeg Inn. Good memories! Just minutes from the main drag in Wilmington. You must stay there if you get the chance.

Room Tip: You have to be able to negotiate steep stairs if you book an upstairs room, so keep this in mind if...
