“Nicely renovated hotel spoilt by noisy outside generator”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014 via mobile

The rooms have been beautifully renovated, and the new breakfast arrangement and layout is superb. The only downside is the enormous old outside generator at the back of the hotel which roars away day and night below the even number bedrooms preventing anybody to have a nice quiet night and getting any sleep! It is really noisy if you have the bad luck to get room 306, and probably even worse in the rooms below on the 2nd and 1st floors. We did complain and were moved to another even number room, but the noise was just as bad. We were told that all odd number rooms had already been allocated, and that they were working on a solution to the problem.

My daughter and I were visiting beautiful Burlington, Vermont. I have made many trips to Burlington in the past (my daughter attended UVM for two years several years ago), and I have stayed at many hotel properties in and around the Burlington area. The Courtyard is a nice property nestled in tress just off of Route 89.

Our room had two queen sized beds, and was spacious and very comfortable. Ask for a room that faces the back of the hotel, which has trees (the front is a parking lot). Unfortunately bedfast is not included in the room rate, but there is a breakfast area for those who wish to purchase breakfast. There is a refrigerator and a Keurig coffee machine in the room.

There is a small fitness room and a small swimming pool with a whirlpool. The kids will be happy.

Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: we had room 330, third floor facing the back of the hotel.

Relatively new and sleek looking, it delivers the consistency of the Courtyard brand. Although I was a bit taken back by Carmen at the front desk, who felt it necessary to comment on the length of my SPANISH surname, at the cost of not even telling us where the elevators were located... Very small work out room.

Given the choices in town, when I come for business, I will not choose this Courtyard. Even though they have free wifi and its clean, I just was so underwhelmed by the catty high-schoolish behaviour of the staff. Annoying. Very. Both my husband and my teen son felt taken back by it. I have choices on where I stay and spend my money. Don't think I want to return here.

We accidently stayed here thinking we were staying at another Residence Inn that was close by. It was a good mistake as this hotel was much newer and cleaner than the other. Great gathering area outside with a fire pit and a nice pool area. Our room was nice, comfortable, clean and quiet. Service was great – the level you would expect from a Marriott.

Real nice place to rest your head after a long day behind the wheel. Seemed to be recently updated, room was large compared to others I've stayed in, it was clean and the bed comfortable. Only downer was that there was a smell of cigarette smoke when you walk in the room. The staff deodorized but it only partially helped. Perhaps the last guests used the balcony to smoke but didn't close the sliding door.
Staff was friendly and the restaurant offered a nice selection.

This place was packed and the poor woman at reception was the only one in sight. She was busy handling phone problems so after waiting sever as l minutes without being acknowledged I left and came back later after dinner to check in. The hotel is dingy and in need of a makeover. Just don't think Marriott and you won't be disappointed. Definitely overpriced. The room reeked like smoke and there was hair and wet pieces of toilet paper all over the bathroom floor. Weird. At least the bed was clean and comfortable. Definitely a room you want to only sleep and shower in and not hang out in.And leave your shoes on.On a good note there was free Green Mountain Coffee. Breakfast looked like it had some hot options but it was so crowded after checking back a couple times we went somewhere else.

If you fly into BTV, call as soon as you land, shuttle bus can take a bit - about 10 minutes from airport. Closes restaurants are about .5 miles walk, so I ate at hotel. Standard food for a Courtyard. Standard rooms. Probably would not stay again due to isolation "feeling".
