This place is odd, a time trip into another era. The floors are warped, the bathroom fixtures need updating, etc. So if you a strictly seeking a standard hotel experience, such as in a Sheraton or Marriot, this place may not be for you. On the other hand, if you approach it with a sense of adventure, openmindedness and above all, an appreciation for history- the place is a gem. The room was clean, quiet and the price was right. What's not to like? You even get a $4.50 voucher (per person0 to use in the attached coffee shop- which served a nice breakfast.

Hello Mark! thanks so much for your five-star review, and for highlighting the main thing that makes the Hotel special--our history! Many folks say that it feels like a stay at their grandparent's house--cozy and charming. Glad too that you enjoyed the Cafe Renee, a little gem in its own right!

We look forward to having you stay with us again.

Hotel is from the 1900's. It has a lot of history. We were there to see a play, and wanted to stay downtown to be able to walk to everything. Room was great! The staff was more than friendly! Lot of restaurants with in walking distance! Great time. Will stay here again!

Other reviews have mentioned noise problems but we were given a two room suite in the back and didn’t have a problem. The old plumbing was kind of loud but it wasn’t a big deal. Other guests tended to be quiet types anyway. I did have one concern. The elevator wasn’t particularly wheelchair accessible. I wondered how a guest with a larger chair could access a room.

Would we return? Yes.

I stayed at Hotel Coolidge for almost 3 months.
The front desk staff is friendly, outgoing, and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. It is central to a busy downtown area, many things are walking distance.

While it is an old building and can be noisy at times, I loved the radiant heat, and the train coming through town daily. It is eccentric and historical.
I felt like I was transported back in time.

My second stay here. I love this place. It feels very historic, with spacious lobby and hallways. Rooms are clean, old-fashioned and unpretentious. The Hotel Coolidge needs an angel to come in and buy it a new roof and pay for updating, but in the meantime it is a great value, if you are someone who appreciates its faded grandeur.

Nice front office staff; however the woman who runs the attached cafe next door should not be in a job that calls for multi-tasking.
