I stayed at this hotel in the 1970's, and alas, with an unplanned car breakdown, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and stay at the Coolidge. This is worth a stay just to get a taste of what hotels used to be like before the era of Hampton and Comfort Inns with their predictable amenities. Strikingly, very little has changed at the hotel, and it not only has the feel of a turn of the century railway hub hotel, but the updates look like they are from the 70's or 80's. Aside from the unique ambience, the hotel was comfortable and clean. This would be a 4 star review, but on opening a window, the copious amount of soot and grime that got all over my elbows from the window sill was a big turn off.
