“Excellent KOA!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

We stopped here for a night to meet up with my sister on our way to Newport, VT and I'm glad we did! Quechee is a neat town with plenty to do in the area. The KOA staff was great. It was quite a time getting our 33' 5th wheel into our spot on the hill and they were a big help. They fit us in last-minute so I am sure that if we had a reservation, they would have found an easier spot for us to get into. One great perk was the trash service - they picked it up from your campsite daily and even gave you a bag for recyclables. There is a little VT country store across the street from the campground that had a little deli and "stuff" (it's not one of the better VT country stores but it sufficed and the food we had was pretty good). There is SO much to do within a short drive from the campground - definitely something for everyone. We hiked the Quechee Gorge trails, visited King Arthur Flour bake store (awesome for any bakers out there), and rode through a couple quaint towns on the NH side of the CT river. Again, this was just a pass-thru for us, but it was a very nice one! Staff was friendly and helpful - always a plus!

Room Tip: Hard to back in bigger rigs on the hill sites.

RVing around New England, we spent out first night of the road trip here. Very picturesque with our pitch nestling between the pine trees. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Very good value, especially the banana bikes that the kids hired. Wished we'd stayed a few more nights.

Our family stayed here for several nights in one of their basic cabins. Basic being just electricity, small mini fridge, beds, and a/c which was actually a pleasant surprise. It was very clean and seemed fairly new. The site itself was great with plenty of room around back for a fire pit and picnic table. The campground overall was extremely clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I can honestly say they were all great! There are two bath houses that were well kept and cleaned daily. I will echo what another reviewer said there are not a lot of planned activitied during the week, although there is a pool, playground, rental boats and bikes. It was also nice that there is a fishing pond on the property. The rec room however, could use some ping pong tables or other similar games, since there is not much in it. The office / camp store was extremely well stocked and firewood was delived to your site with purchase. Lots of things to do in the area with a great country store just across the street with ice cream and all kinds of food. Overall we had a great time and will be back. We have stayed at about a half dozen KOA's and this is our new favorite.

We stayed in a cabin for our 3 day stay during July. The cabins were clean and provided most of the modern amenities you would need or desire. The a/c was awesome considering how incredibly muggy it was!! The sites are close together. There is a bit lacking during the week in terms of activities for the kids at the camp ground- basically a playground or pool. We used the cabin as our "home base" and went on several day trips however, so this was not a problem for us. The staff was friendly. Morning side trash pick-up was a great feature. The pool was clean and well maintained.
Overall we were very pleased and would certainly stay here again.

We stayed here in a small trailer, our son and his family at the same site with their tent. It's hard to reserve a site without seeing it - I think the staff tried to give us what we needed, which was a site with a grassy area for the tent. Our site had a grassy area, but it was very close to the road, and I didn't like the idea of my grandkids sleeping there. We were willing to pay for a nice tent site, but there weren't any available. We had stayed at this campground 3 times in the past and liked it, but we had been on the upper level, where the sites wouldn't accomodate a tent.
Our site #45 was near the pool (small but the kids enjoyed it) and not far from the bathhouse and the office. The kids also liked the playground. So we were near all the things the kids liked, but a bit disappointed that we couldn't get a more private spot with a little more room.

Our son overheard a person checking in who had reserved a specific spot, but it wasn't available when he arrived. He had to take a less desirable spot and wasn't very happy about it. When they say they don't guarantee you'll get the site you reserve, they mean it.

We paid $70 a night for 3 nights ($20 extra for having 6 people on the site). They provide curbside garbage pickup and if you buy wood they deliver it to your site - so there is a lot of golf cart noise/traffic from staff members doing these things. The staff is great, very helpful and accomodating. The bathhouse was clean, plenty of hot water for showers.

My granddaughter wanted to go camping and fishing. One can do both at this place! One doesn't need a fishing license since KOA owns the lake-pond. This is the best campground! One can easily rent one of their cabins if you don't like to sleep on the ground. No cooking is needed since the Countrystore is across the road.
