This is at least the fourth time i've stayed here since it was purchased by new owners six years ago. The previous owner (it used to be known as the Friendly Acres motel) had let it get pretty seedy but it has undergone a major restoration. Every time we visit, there is another improvement.
The ten guest rooms are - while simply furnished - scrupulously clean and contain all the amenities you might need (cable TV, small fridge, programmable safe, fan, and hair dryer, soap and shampoo in the bathroom).
The centerpiece of the building is "The Moose Lounge" a cozy bar/restaurant/hangout with fireplace, complimentary WiFi, books, coffee, etc. The owners serve a complimentary hot breakfast between 8-9 a.m. What it consists of is luck of the draw, based on the number of guests and what they have on hand, but they did accommodate another guest who didn't like the daily choice. They also serve a limited dinner menu on Thursday-Saturday night.
About the only drawback, if it could be considered one, is very limited telephone service (and this is true of all of Weston, not just here) . Mobile phones do not work anywhere in town (drive into nearby Ludlow for Cingular coverage), and the only public phone on the property is in the aforementioned lounge. However, the owners allow guests to use it in exchange for a donation to a children's charity.
The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They quickly learn guests' names, and every time we go they remember our preferences, and we encounter other repeaters. While it is a small facility in a small town, they really do their best to accommodate your needs.
