“Good but not Outstanding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

The Inn at Weston was moderately comfortable and we appreciate that the owners/managers were really trying to please. But some things fell short, and we didn't feel it was up to the level of many other "Inns" that we've stayed at.

First, our room in the Bryant House (the Bryant Room) was cozy, but a little tired looking. The gas stove heated the room nicely, and the bed was fairly comfortable, but not great. The main problem is that it is just off the main entrance and hallway, and you can hear the smallest whisper from the entrance, hallway or the common area. How well we slept depended on how willing the other guests were to be very quiet.

Second, this is a Vermont Inn and it was just after Christmas. In the common room at the Inn, which is very small, there is a fireplace, but we had to ask to have it lit and that was the only time it was lit while we were there. They were nice enough to set up a fire in the Bryant House, so we could light it if we wanted. In both cases, the wood was fairly unseasoned and didn't burn well. And there isn't really much common space in the Inn, so your choices are your room or the bar.

We booked a package which came with a bottle of champagne, which they forgot about and handed to us as we checked out. Oh well. And one odd thing at breakfast. We didn't want the very good but very heavy breakfast entree, so we asked for plain cooked eggs and bacon. That special order took forever to come out, and I'm not sure why. They did seem a bit frazzelled about that one...

On the positive side, the rooms are very clean, the food in the dining room for dinner is EXCELLENT, and the hosts and staff are very friendly. All in all, I can recommend this Inn for a short stay, but I feel the value could be better for the price.

Room Tip: Upstairs in the Bryant House might be better than downstairs for noise?

We stayed in the Carriage House at the inn at Weston. Lind and Bob were great hosts and lovely staff. The food was excellent and very popular with local people. It is a great relaxing get away with plenty of things to do if you want to.

My husband and I and our well-mannered pup enjoyed a Christmas week overnight in The Inn. Outside it was deep cold, inside, blazing fires warmed and welcomed us. Our room, the Goodwin, was simple but adequate; the bed was very comfortable! We slept ten hours, an impossible duration at home with our too-busy schedule. Dinner was great; piano guy played our request: "As Time Goes By." Breakfast included fruits and healthy granola, and two hot dishes from which to choose. I let out my belt a notch and ate all of my French toast! Innkeeper Linda Aldrich was welcoming and patient and kind, if a little distracted. (I tried to get a thermos of coffee warmed up; though Linda took it to the kitchen, it took several requests from me to retrieve it, still cold.) I love that The Inn is pet-friendly, a courtesy to pet owners that enhances the feeling of relaxed welcome.

My boyfriend and I really wanted a quiet relaxing weekend away from our busy jobs to celebrate our anniversary. We found the Inn at Weston to be one of the most relaxing and peaceful places. The charm and cozy "home" like feeling we got not just from the inn itself but also from Bob, Linda, and their adorable dog Lexi. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main inn and were able to walk downstairs to to an amazing dinner at their restaurant. The food was fantastic and the wine selection wonderful. It was nice to see how much Bob and Linda both love sharing what they enjoy with everyone else, from the pictures of their family and favorite local artist to their wine selection. We were lucky enough to visit during "Christmas in Weston" which made the weekend even more spectacular. I can not wait to visit again and hopefully bring my parents who would enjoy not only the quaint town of Weston but also the wonderful relaxing experience at the inn.

Room Tip: Every room has it own character and own amenities so when you are selecting your room make sure you...

We stayed here in late October. Bob and Linda Aldrich are wonderful and warm innkeepers whose hospitality is superb. Everything is taken care for guests. The meals in the restaurant are prepared with care with the best of ingredients. We have stayed there many times and always look forward to our next stay at the inn. They are a very enjoyable experience in the in the typical New England town of Weston. We highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We have stayed in several rooms at Weston and they are all quite nice. On our recent stay we were i...

My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our anniversary at the Inn at Weston. The accommodations were charming, romantic and cozy. Our hosts, Bob and Linda, were so friendly and inviting, we felt as if we had known them for years. We were upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace which made our weekend extra romantic. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and were blown away by the food. It was absolutely amazing! Lexi, the golden retriever, was so sweet and well-behaved, she made the Inn feel like home (albeit a more luxurious and relaxing one!). Thanks for such a wonderful stay. We'll be back next year for sure!

The Inn at Weston, and the proprietors Bob and Linda, are fantastic. I have stayed here a few times now, and will continue to do so anytime I'm Skiing, Camping, or just looking to get away to the southern Vermont area. The food, and the wine list, at the restaurant are also world class and are consistently voted as top places to eat, and a top wine list by Wine Advocate and it is easy to see why. Every meal I have had has been delicious and if you have any questions about the wine list Bob is more than happy to discuss it with you. On a recent trip, when we were experiencing car troubles, Linda took 2 hours out of her day to drive us to the nearest rental car agency which was in Rutland (30 minutes away). She wouldn't accept any extra money or anything for this either, it just goes to show how much Linda and Bob care about their guests and the type of business they run. Thank you to both of you, this is one of the mosthigh class establishments I have stayed at anywhere in the world.

Room Tip: Request the Coleman Room if you stay in the Coleman house across the street, but it is really worth...
