Visited this store with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and two children, 4 and 5.
It is an amazing place and full of temptations everywhere. It is truly a
destination store. If you like country and old fashioned stuff you won't be
disappointed even if you travel a distance.
They find and sell food products you can't readily find elsewhere. Does the
name Postum mean anything to you? You can buy it there.
They also have fragrances, perfumes and after shaves that are rare nowadays.
Does the name Evening in Paris mean anything to you? You can buy it there.
Plus they have loads of old fashioned toys, including jack-in-the-box, tinker toys;
all kinds of treasures. Warning: The kids may overpower you here.
One word of advice. Bring plenty of money. NOTHING is inexpensive there.
Down a few stairs or a ramp is the cheese and jelly section. It is a sampler's
paradise. There were so many things to try, I didn't need lunch afterwards!
However, if you do feel the need to "fill the void" there is a snack bar across
the yard adjoining a shed with tables. Rustic but fun.
One more thing. There is a "sale" or budget area on the second floor, but I
thought everything looked trashy - the stuff nobody wanted to buy. My opinion!

Great store with LOTS of unusual items!! A bit pricey but when you are consider that there are so many hard-to-find items then the prices are understandable. The village of Weston itself is charming also. Right across the road from the Vermont Country Store is the Village Christmas Shop - fabulous!! HUGE selection of Christmas ornaments, etc. and very friendly owners.

We only live about 65 miles from Weston, Vt in New York State. When we have company from anywhere visit we like bringing them to the Vermont Country Store. Their products are top of the line and you can find ANYTHING you want (except alpaca sox!). You have the luxury of being able to sample many of the products. Their soaps are worth the trip over there for us as I like the citrus sent and my husband likes the sandalwood. We have met people there from Australia (a big bus tour) and all over the world. Their staff is excellent too. By the way, the bathrooms are always spotless.

This is the general sore that I had never seen, where you can find everything and you can also taste everything. Obviously you will find here the cheeses of Vermont, maple syrups in all gradations of amber, mousses to the various flavors, salad and sweet biscuits. The formula see, taste and buy seems to work very well. It's also available the cucumber found anywhere else, that one singing the Tyrolean yodel, very funny! The prices are not low, but in line with the average.

Plenty of items that were displayed to be sampled. Their Basil Pesto and Cranberry Honey Mustard is excellent. It has what you would expect in a country store and so much more. Definitely worth visiting. Has a little of everything.
