“Wonderful Holiday Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Our family spent the Holiday at this beautiful Inn. It was top notch service from start to finish.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating We were delighted to be able to have a gathering which provided both comfort and peace.
We enjoyed a fabulous meal and my son was very happy with Katja's "surprise" pick from the menu.
It gave us a real sense of home-like feeling and some great quality family time.
We were lucky to get a light dusting of snow which added to the "Christmas atmosphere".
Staying at the Inn was an excellent way to bring a close to one year and an enlightening open to another! Thank you to everyone for making our family stay a memorable one!

Room Tip: Just ask for assistance if your not sure which room would suite your needs. I did, and we were not...

Our first ever visit to Vermont brought us to the Windham Hill, and we'll leave with a lifetime of memories. It's hard to beat the view from the William Room porch in early October.

Katja, the Innkeeper was the perfect blend of professionalism and warmth. Her and her team's attention to detail was truly impressive - that which you would see at the finest resorts in the world. Spotless cleanliness in rural areas is very difficult to achieve - but they did it. The grounds were manicured, the bed / bath rooms were perfectly cleaned, the dishes were polished, and you couldn't find a speck of dust anywhere.

The food was very good, and Dan the beverage manager was very passionate and knowledgeable with wine pairings. The morning coffee, breakfast, afternoon tea and pre-dinner local cheeses were all wonderful.

But all of that pales in comparison to the genuine warmth Katja exudes with her guests. Upon arrival, she met us at the door, greeted us by name, and remembered our names throughout our stay. We had a personalized handwritten note waiting for us in our room. It's truly as though we were guests in her home. We've never felt so welcome and appreciated.

She far and away the best innkeeper / manager we've had the pleasure to stay with... an absolute gem.

Room Tip: Rooms with a porch.

The Innskeeper, Katja, was fantastic. She knew everything about the area and had maps ready to hand out. She also knew of any event going on that weekend and other weekends. The food was delicious, best filet my husband and I have had (and we've been to some great steakhouses in NYC). The wine selection is impressive. The sommelier knew the list well and offered the perfect pairing with our meal.

The afternoon tea and scones were warm and delicious-perfect treat in the middle of a winter day!

Room Tip: We had access to a porch. This was perfect for looking at the stars late at night.

We did not stay at the inn for our anniversary weekend but decided to splurge on a special dinner. While our meals were perfectily fine, they were far from speical. Service was attentive, the little extra plates at the beginning and end were delightful, we had a lovely evening but not because of the meal.

My boyfriend and I have been here three times and have decided that this is our new favorite getaway. The Windham Hill Inn is a paradise on earth. We are from Northern California and have Napa and the wine country in our backyard but nothing compared to the stunning views of the Green Mountains of Vermont. The service at the Windham Hill Inn is impeccable. From Katja, the innkeeper's amazing attention to detail to the amicable staff we didn't have a care in the world. Our room was charming and delightful. Every time we returned from our daily adventures we found our room magically made up by the housekeeping fairies. Our meals were fabulously prepared by Chef Graham and his team.We experienced two extraordinary meals, one was their tasting menu with a wine pairing on our last trip in June. The second was the recent Burgundy wine dinner which was part of their wine dinner series, not to be missed. We particularly enjoyed the trio of rabbit and the lobster stuffed sole filet. Bravo!
We ended our trip with a wonderful hike up to the waterfall on the green trail, just as the leaves are turning and fall is in the air. We are already planning our next visit to Southern Vermont. Thank you so much for another great stay!

Room Tip: If you are coming in the early summer, choose on of their rooms in the barn building to enjoy the fi...

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at this inn at the end of July and beginning of August. We spent three nights there and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Our stay was during three weekdays. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the inn manager before we even entered the inn. She gave us a tour of the facilities and showed us the location of our room. We found the food to be excellent. The menu is not huge, but there is always a new off-menu item available each day. We had no trouble having different meals each day during our three day stay. The staff was very friendly and efficient during our visit. We stayed in Kate's room. We were very satisfied with our accommodations and the public areas. We did not hear a lot of noise from our room, but the inn was not operating at full capacity. The grounds are large with hiking trails that have a couple of steep sections and a creek. The only minor negatives that I can say (and they are truly minor) are the hot water took a bit of time to reach our room and there was no A/C control in the rooms; the A/C is centrally controlled. We plan on returning.

Room Tip: We thought Kate's room gave very good value since it has a balcony.

Wow! This place is something else. Very very relaxing, fabulous food, fantastic service (Catja and Dan rock!) When you wake up you are overlooking the Green Mountains right in front of you. The quietness of this resort is almost deafening. We stayed in the Williams Lawrence. This room has the perfect deck overlooking the mountains, the room has high ceilings, and, although not overly spacious, very nice. The beds are incredibly comfortable. I would recommend getting a room with a second level loft to avoid any possible noise. Although we didn't have much, we could hear our neighbours from time to time. The North Loft seems like a good pick. Lots of trails and hiking can be done. The restaurant is simply fantastic! Great wines, great Scotch's and Dan makes a mean Martini!
You should consider the fact that Internet and cell phone coverages can be quiet limited. When you go to Windham Hill Inn, forget your communication devices and relax!

Room Tip: Choose a loft room. This will avoid any noises.
