Country inn atmosphere with a great menu. The roasted duck with courant cherry sauce is a favorite and I order it every time I can. Food is well prepared and the portions are substantial. Nice presentation. Good wine list. All in all, a perfect meal in a perfect setting.

Great dinner, local food, impeccable service in a great historic place. Rosted chicken with pumpkin pure was a treat! Go there without hesitation for a truly Vermont gourmet experience in Dover.

When we began coming to the area back in the late 80's, our favorite restaurants were Le Petite Chef, Two Tannery and Red Shutter (loved the salad menu back then). The only one still standing is Two Tannery, which has remained consistent thought the years (even though they changed owners once). While there are some other good restaurants, if you can only go to one, go to Two Tannery for the food, the setting and the service? There is a wonderful, relaxed feeling eating in the old house with such rich history. Each room has its own character. Don't forget to have a drink At the bar first ( he makes a great white chocolate martini, and there is no cream in it). Save room for dessert ( coffee toffee is my favorite)!

A wonderful dining experience. My girlfriend and I had the best dining experience in West Dover here. Quaint setting.

Those expecting a high end meal will be disappointed. The food at The Hermitage is much better. Still, enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was friendly. Food lacked finesse. Cajun steak tips were an over-cooked, over-seasoned mess. The salad was only fair. The one true highlight was the peach dessert. It was outstanding. Prices are high.
