“Perfect base for Mount Snow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

We enjoyed our 3-night stay here, starting Christmas Day. This is a warm country inn. It's bigger than a B&B so you don't have the personal touch of a B&B's owners chatting with you at breakfast, but it is welcoming nonetheless. Twelve rooms in the main building, and I presume several more in the buildings next to. There's a nice sitting area by a fireplace off the dining room of Nonna's, the in-house Italian restaurant that serves dinner. Also, a library on the second floor is another nice place to relax and take a cup of tea, cider, cocoa or coffee after skiing, or anytime. Board games and 3d tic-tac-toe are available. Nonna's dinner room is also the place for breakfast. Our server for breakfast, Karen, was friendly, attentive, and welcoming each morning. Nonna's is a fine restaurant for dinner; the food is very good, service fine, and ambience suitable for conversation. But, guests should reserve in advance if they want to dine there, especially on busy weekends; it's popular. The rooms are lovely. Our deluxe king room was large, and nicely appointed with comfy chairs, a desk, and beds with fluffy comforters. We had a wall of windows and a balcony. As for rates, we took advantage of a package that included lift tickets, at savings off even Mt. Snow's web-based price.

Great getaway from Springfield, Mass. nice property, a bit dated and worn, beautiful snowy weekend. We have always enjoyed this area of Vermont, we enjoyed breakfast, couldn't stay for brunch, though we were a bit entertained by our server yelling at the kitchen staff for not preparing what she demanded, we were in the Dining Room and heard her real clear, not real professional, which she obviously wasn't. Her voice worked well but she didn't know about espresso or how to make it, hmmn

Room Tip: Inside rooms are warmer, you don't have to leave the warmth to walk from the outside condo rooms...

We stayed at the Inn at Sawmill Farm this past weekend and it was a real treat. Marianne, the receptionist, and Marco, the manager, bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. There was a slight problem when we arrived and Marco made sure to solve the problem and to compensate us. We also ate in Nonna's restaurant, which is a part of the Inn. Our dinner and our breakfasts were scrumptious. The staff in the restaurant were also wonderful.. the chef, and both Pam and Karen, our waitresses, were so enjoyable to talk to, and most helpful. The Inn itself is charming. Our room was spotless and big and relaxing. We also sat by the fireplace and read after dinner. It is decorated for Christmas and was so warm and inviting. We loved our stay. We will definitely return

Room Tip: We stayed in the main part of the Inn. At this time of year that was nice as we didn't have to g...

Vermont B&B's. There are so many to choose from it becomes overwhelming. So I feel it's important to point out the great ones. Try the Inn at Sawmill Farm in Vermont.

The Inn at Sawmill Farm sets itself apart because it is a quaint inn but still includes all the extras....the best and most caring service and attention from Jennifer and Marco, a beautiful setting, convenient location, cozy rooms, A+ food, and LOTS to do in the area, regardless of season. Try the mountain for snow sports or the nearby trails for hiking. At the same time, if you don't want to leave the Inn there is plenty to grant you that relaxing weekend to unwind you were looking for. You would be happy even if you never left the Inn. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Talk to Jennifer and Marco at the Inn and they will help get the most suitable room for your needs w...

The setting is lovely. Sitting in the gazebo with a glass of wine on a Fall evening was sheer delight. The grounds are well cared for and the accomodations comfortable and pleasant. We even enjoyed the guests who seemed to have come from all over the world. The restaurant is very good and breakfasts in the warm sunny dining room were great. I really liked this place.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everyone at the Sawmill Farm made sure our stay was special. Our room was large, light and very comfortable. Our first afternoon was spent in front of the fire with a freshly made pot of earl grey and tasters of some of their homemade desserts. The restaurant, only open thurs-sun, was our setting for dinner on our second night - the Italian food was rich, tasty and there was plenty of it.
This is a very relaxed Inn, in fact after our dinner we sat in the bar with the manager and chef watching the Red Sox.
This is home away from home, only better.

Me and my wife along with our 2 year old son stayed at the Inn for 2 nights (Room #10). The room and grounds surrounding the Inn were immaculate. We loved the atmosphere and the hospitality of the staff. The breakfast and dinner were enjoyable. We plan on staying here again when we visit southern Vermont.

Room Tip: Room #10 is good for kids as it is somewhat isolated
