“A little slice of heaven ”
Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everyone at the Sawmill Farm made sure our stay was special. Our room was large, light and very comfortable. Our first afternoon was spent in front of the fire with a freshly made pot of earl grey and tasters of some of their homemade desserts. The restaurant, only open thurs-sun, was our setting for dinner on our second night - the Italian food was rich, tasty and there was plenty of it.
This is a very relaxed Inn, in fact after our dinner we sat in the bar with the manager and chef watching the Red Sox.
This is home away from home, only better.

Me and my wife along with our 2 year old son stayed at the Inn for 2 nights (Room #10). The room and grounds surrounding the Inn were immaculate. We loved the atmosphere and the hospitality of the staff. The breakfast and dinner were enjoyable. We plan on staying here again when we visit southern Vermont.

Room Tip: Room #10 is good for kids as it is somewhat isolated

Philip was great, we had a glitch with our online booking about room description and Phillip moved us to a great room. The grounds are beautiful and the foliage was awesome. We will stay there again. I would recommend some training for the breakfast servers and more help on busy days, Phillip needs to bestow on them his hospitality demeanor. I highly recommend you contact the Inn directly for reservations.

Room Tip: Book a room in one of the cottages

We were there in last summer for a weekend trip. The inn and surrounding area has a great landscape. The inn itself has a strong New England character. We had to stay at two different rooms and each room had a very different style. Relaxing stay.

From the moment we walked into our large bedroom with sitting area and wood burning fireplace we knew we were at a special place. The fireplace was stacked with wood ready to light which we did. Split wood is piled outside our door. Attention to detail was apparent throughout the facility, including the delicious fruit pancakes and thick maple bacon for breakfast. We will recommend this to all.

Room Tip: Choose rooms away from the main building which are much larger and more private.

This inn is very well-situated in a beautiful part of Vermont, right along Route 100. The property itself is first-rate; the grounds are gorgeous, there's a nice pool, a gazebo, etc. The building is definitely worth a stay, with many separate common areas. Our room was spacious and beautifully-appointed. Very comfortable. There's a restaurant onsite, but we didn't eat dinner there. The breakfast was fine, but nothing to rave about. We enjoyed the host/manager of the property, who served the breakfasts the mornings we were there. Very personable fellow.

A beautiful country inn with gorgeous grounds, outdoor seating areas, fire pit, swimming pool, games, beautiful indoor sitting areas. All the public spaces were clean and cozy. Our spacious room came with wonderful amenities such as a flat screen TV, double sinks, toiletries including toothpaste and the best robes!!!! I wanted to buy one!!! The king sized bed was covered with new linens and fresh covers. The breakfast was outstanding and made to order.
This inn certainly deserves the # 1 ranking for West Dover inns and B and Bs.
