“Amazing Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2006

Our stay at the Moose Meadow was fabulous! Willie and Greg were spectacular hosts. The place is beautiful, sparkling clean, gorgeous grounds, exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the Mountain View Room, it was very spacious, and the decor definately makes it stand out from all the flowers and lace of most other B&B's in Vermont. Willie is a great cook and made us a delicious breakfast of French Toast and Bacon. Next time we will definately stay longer.

  • Liked — The hosts were so friendly, you could tell they put their heart and soul into this place.
  • Disliked — Dark Roads!

Perfect is the only word to describe the Moose Meadow Lodge experience. The service from Greg and Willy is 5-star. They provide a personal touch without being overbearing. The Inn is very cozy and inviting. Since the lodge is on a piece of property that is 80+ acres, you really feel like you are getting away from reality. The breakfasts are huge and top notch! We will back again and again and again.

My boyfriend and I just returned from a mini-vacation at Moose Meadow Lodge. It was by far the nicest B&B experience we have ever had. Our hosts were very accomodating and made us feel welcome and relaxed. Their home is beautiful-a unique log cabin style with fireplaces, a piano, hand painted murals, hot tub and loads of intereting things to look at. All guests have use of the kitchen and are welcome to bring their food in. There are several common areas to sit and read, play games, watch tv or visit with other guests. Tea, coffee, and hot cocoa were always ready. Breakfast is served at a leisurely 9 am and it was marvelous every morning. The property is extensive and snow shoes are supplied for those wishing to venture uphill for a spectacular view. We would have been happy to never leave the property, but if you do, you will find "downtown" Waterbury just minutes away by car. Waterbury is a small town but offers several nice restaurants and a few cute shops. It is near Stowe as well as my personal favorite, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream factory! Moose Meadow offered everything we hoped for and more.

My partner and I decided on a whim to visit this B&B for something different on New Years Eve. The place looked quite nice on their website, but it was truly amazing once we arrived. A few pointers:
1. Ask for the Mountain View room. It is the only upstairs room (more privacy) and has an amazing view of the valley below.....
2. Prepare to relax. This is NOT a place to be running here and there on a schedule. Use the hot tub, play the board games etc.
3. Hike to the sky loft. We did it in snow shoes over the snow. While VERY tiring, it is well worth it. The view (again) is breathtaking.
4. See some of the sights in the town. Willie and Greg could not be any more of gracious hosts and will do anything to make your stay relaxing and fun.

This place is a true find.......I would recommend this to just about anyone.

The Moose Meadow Lodge located in the sleepy town of waterbury- is just the place for the post-modern urbanite wishing to escape the concrete, cellphones and hectic pace of city life. Nestled in 83 acres of beautiful woods this Bed and Breakfast is like staying at your friend's log cabin. Complete with a tranquil pond, beautiful fireplace, and amazing hiking trail this place will feel so good for anyone looking to just let go and enjoy the silence. After hiking 20 min uphill I was rewarded with a stunning view of the valley as well as the cozy "skyloft" , a place to sit down and take in the breathe taking view. Breakfast is amazing, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the hospitality unmatched. Although primarily a gay and lesbian B&B it is very "Straight Friendly" for example on my last night a great family stayed the night. I found the place online at their website.
