“Great post skiing fare.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

There are a lot of good things about this restaurant. The only bad thing is they can't handle the entire apres-ski crowd from all the surrounding mountains at once. There simply need to be more Prohibition Pig restaurants! There is no competition in the area so they get busy. Even lunch time on the weekend demands a half hour wait at the bar with a good beer. Poor us. ;)

The burgers are well priced. They beer selection is great. They have The Alchemist brews on tap. Yes, they do run out of Heady Topper. Everyone around is used to it. There are other great beers to try.

For food, I recommend trying Just A Burger. It isn't huge but the flavor is perfect and its $6.50. Get two if you are really hungry.

“Great food, great atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

We were in VT to ski at the beginning of February and ended up at this spot for Super Bowl Sunday. Cool bar, cool little town feel. Great beer, great atmosphere. For the event, they had a huge screen with the game showing, and the best part was a FREE meal for the entire bar. It was a full cooked pig with all the fixings - coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad. We also ordered pretzels (very good) and their mac and cheese with truffles - probably the best mac and cheese we've ever had. If I were in Waterbury again, I would definitely stop here!

“Didn't live up to the hype”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

Yeah, not so great. Everything we had was an almost played as in they almost got it right but threw in some questionable spice or flavor that just missed the mark. Take the potato salad for example: nice creamy texture, good consistency on the potato chunks, but that little extra zing of flavor that caught us by unpleasant surprise just didn't do it. Small portions, not great flavor. Husband said beer was ok. My bun didn't stand up to my turkey burger and crumbled in my hands. They didn't bring extra napkins with the food (what were they thinking?). The condiment on the burger was a mis-fire. 17 year old son asked how a place could do a burger wrong. On the bright side, they were quite busy that evening, but seemed to keep up with the tables & customers needs/requests, & the server was knowledgeable about the menu.
