Today was my first trip to Stowe, and we stayed in a nearby Best Western. I looked at some nearby places on yelp, and after taking a look we chose Prohibition Pig. First off, their selection of craft beers was nice. We tried the duck fat fries and the fried pimento cheese with some kind of a chili pepper jelly. Both were great. Being from North carolina, we all ordered the Eastern Carolina pulled pork platter. Wow, the absolutely crushed it. They offer 4 different sauces at the table and i'll say honestly that this is some of the best barbeque that i've ever had. I'll even make the bold statement that this is one of my top 10 meals that i've ever had. This place is insane. We all raved about it afterwards. Go here. Enjoy yourself. You'll be happy you did.

Waterbury is a convenient place to break our journey between our permanent home in Cambridge, MA and our vacation home in the northern Adirondacks. We now plan our trips so as to hit Waterbury in time for dinner at the Pig. There is a simple menu featuring many locally sourced items including the meat in the burger, nice local cheeses and locally brewed beer. We like to sit at the bar which is very well stocked and serves very good cocktails in antique glassware.

This spot has an outstanding collection of local craft beers. Had a couple of hard to find Hill Farmstead Brewery beers which were just terrific on draft. Friendly customers, younger local crowd, and good staff and a nice space. Ate a very nice burger at the bar. Casual and good. Definitely will recommend.

Good rye whiskey, nice proportions, and fresh lemon served in an old fashioned glass - even good ice cubes. The second round was consistently good.
