“I'll be back whenever in Waterbury”
Reviewed August 20, 2012 via mobile

Decided to try this place out as we like to try new craft beers and we like barbecue. We went for dinner one day and then back again the next day for a snack. We went back mostly for another "Heady Topper" by Alchemist Brewery but also for the sweet potato fries which were some of the best I have had. The pulled pork sandwiches and garlicky dill pickle were yum. The only food that didn't impress was the Mac and cheese appetizer. All of the staff in this place very welcoming, helpful, and nice.

“Great BBQ and Beer”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

A real favorite in Vermont. Interesting beer list from regional brews. Food is interesting and very tasty. They smoke their own meats and feature thom in excellent sandwiches and platters.

“Delicious and informal”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

Loved our birthday celebration dinner at the Pig1 Mescal Blues coktail wiht smoked ice(!) was superb. The friend pimento cheese and briket sadwich were excellent. The smoked bone in Chicken entree was just right. Special crab cake sadwich was good if a bit small-portioned. No this is not The Alchemist who could charge less for the food because of the strong margins on their own beer, but the Pig is worth every Penny. We will support this great new place.

“A little overpriced!”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

I can see why this restaurant has mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. It is a very nice, local, bar type setting in Waterbury with a huge selection of microbrews from all around the world in both draft and bottles. It is the only place we were able to find the Alchemist's Heady Topper (which was the best beer we tasted during our visit to Vermont) on tap. The restaurant offers a variety of pulled pork and chicken dishes along with hamburgers and the usual pub fare. However, the portions are on the small side and the prices for the beers and food higher than in other similar establishments. The food was average at best. The place has a great deal of potential in a unique location. I hope they listen to the feedback from Trip Advisor travelers and address the issues.
