“Please avoid this restaurant.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2010

There was six in our party. After we were seated, our waiter was very rude and appeared to be put out to have us as customers. We asked for three separate tickets and you would have thought we asked for a million dollars. We placed our orders and when the food arrived, it was cold and not very good at all. I am not very fussy when is comes to eating out, but Arvad's is not a restaurant I would recommend to anyone. Eating our should be a pleasant experience, but this was not.

“Pleasant, clean restaurant with good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2010

Ate dinner here on June 22, 2010 while passing through on vacation. The Old Stagecoach Inn personnel had recommended this restaurant along with a couple of others. Arvad's was less crowded and more quiet than the first one we visited, so we opted for Arvad's. We enjoyed our food at this clean restaurant. The clamcakes were good plus our Greek salad very crisp and tasty. Everyone seemed to like what they ate (there were six of us). Arvad's had plenty of beer selections as well.

“Great service, great menu, ok food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2009

We've eaten here dozens of times. It's not the place you want to go for amazing food, but when you just can't decide what you want to eat or if you have a group with varied tastes, you can eat here and have good food and consistently good service. Also a great place to go when you want to talk (which you absolutely cannot do at the Alchemist) and catch up with friends. The outdoor seating is lovely in the summer.

If you are a cosmo drinker, these are among the best (and cheapest) in Central Vermont. Not too sweet, not too tart.

The dessert that is like a chocolate chip cookie with B&J ice cream and fudge sauce is one of my ALL TIME favorite desserts. It's worth skipping dinner for.

“Loved the porch seating!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2009

Boyfriend got the worlds smallest but tastiest steak that came with blue cheese butter. I had a portobello mushroom quesadilla. It was tasty but it didn't rock my world. The porch seating was the best part on a nice summer night. it helped set the mood.

“Good for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2009

I've been to Arvad's twice for lunch while doing work in the area. While I've only had lunch, it has always been very tasty and quick (especially if you only have an hour) The service was super and the menu is varied. I got the Vermonter sandwich which was turkey with apples on a toasted wheat bread. It was quite delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely come back here again.
