Owner description: For all the euphoric flavors you can't get enough of – especially the ones you can't get in ordinary stores – nobody scoops Ben & Jerry's better than we do at our scoop shops.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Ben & Jerry's factory tour this past weekend. Loved the history of the brand as well as seeing the pints being produced on the plant floor. And the free sample at the end wasn't so bad either! A great stop for any ice cream lover!

It's a short tour but for only four bucks with free ice-cream you can't complain. I would warn you that the jokes are terrible but the film on the history of the place is quite good. Worth the trip if you are in the area.

A fun place for a quick visit. The tour is only about 15-20 minutes but it's interesting. Loved the free sample at the end. The 'Flavor Graveyard' is funny. It has cute poems explaining why the flavors didn't make it.

We knew that the Ben & Jerry’s founders sold out to a conglomerate years ago, but the folksy image of the original company was still stuck in our minds when we arrived at the main factory in Waterbury and took the tour. By the time we left, that image was erased forever. This interesting production facility not incidentally functions as a mass tourist attraction designed to part hordes of visitors from their money as quickly and efficiently as possible. It is so crowded and heavily commercialized that one gets the feeling he has entered a take-a-number-and-wait-your-turn sort of world in which he is being herded around and queued up with other sheep. All of this said, we found the half hour tour interesting, ate some great ice cream, and saw plenty of people, especially children, having a splendid time. Bottom line: We’re glad that we added this place to our “been there, done that” list, but one visit is definitely enough.
