We really enjoyed visiting Ben & Jerry's. We were there on a quiet day and were able to take the next tour starting up. We took the corny tourist shots while waiting - our heads on an ice cream lid in place of Ben and Jerry, and standing in an ice cream carton, lol. The tour started with a short video about the history, then moved into a room overlooking the production floor. They were filling up pints of ice cream and putting the lids on so it was fun to see the factory in action. Our tour guide spouted off one bad cow joke after another, but it was all in good spirits and fun. He explained each section of the production floor and answered questions. Then we went down to the flavor room for our free sample. It was delicious. Be sure to look around while there - we passed the Quality Assurance room which was interesting to peek into, and the flavor room even had some fun things to look at. Gift shop had cute B&J's items. Don't miss the flavor graveyard up the hill in back if you are a Ben & Jerry's fan. Nice view from there as well.
Definitely worth a stop, but go early to avoid the crowds at busy times. Note that the tour goes upstairs but does have an elevator if you need one. Go with the right frame of mind, expecting corny jokes, silliness, some company information, a short tour, and a tasty treat and you will enjoy yourself!
