i had the opportunity to stay again with Mike and Sandra Anastos at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn in Waitsfield. It did feel as if i had just come home, even though a year had passed since my last stay. They are wonderful hosts and the inn is terrific. Each room has a special character, each welcoming and comfortable. And the breakfasts are just delicious! I would go out of my way to stay at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn.

My husband and I attended our niece's graduation and commissioning into the Navy at Norwich University in Northfield this past weekend. The Yellow Farmhouse was a little further away from Norwich than I thought but was worth it.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home at the Yellow Farmhouse. We were greeted with homemade dessert which was welcomed after our long road trip. We were starving and the innkeeper gave us several tips for where to eat in town. We stayed in the "Caroline" room which was a very spacious room with a very comfortable king bed. I often have trouble sleeping in a bed that is not my own but I was out like a light both nights in this one. The bathroom was fine; not huge but big enough for the two of us. We had a small television but never watched it and the whole house is equipped with wi-fi.

Breakfast was great both mornings. We started with fruit and then moved onto the main course of pumpkin pancakes one day and eggs/potatoes/toast the next. Coffee and OJ were also served.

Make sure to roam the grounds if you are there on a nice day. There are several places to sit and relax outside and across the street there are horses.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn and will definitely stay there again if we find ourselves up that way. The innkeepers were very nice, friendly and accommodating. A+!

Just left the Yellow Farmhouse after a fabulous weekend. The hosts were attentive, and the food, rooms (we had two rooms - both lovely) atmosphere were all a perfect 10. The inn keepers also made great suggestions for activities and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Food excellent, attention to details, superb, ready to go the extra mile,to accommodate you and your friends.
We loved the location, the house and the not in your face antiquities, this is nicely done, with the idea of don't fuzz about my gran- granny, once removed furniture, that at the end or they give you the Jeeves or you can utilize the room for the real purpose.
W e really like it the simple approach, nice contemporary furniture and bedding.
And what a view you have!!!!!

Room Tip: Close to little towns , 30 minutes from Stove, tons of things to do

We've come back here two years in a row for a VT ski trip. Everything has been perfect both times. Very scenic and perfectly kept inn, amazing breakfasts, and the most friendly innkeepers. We'll be back.

The Yellow Farmhouse is delightful. The decor is charming. The rooms are spotless. And the breakfasts are delicious. Mike and Sandra are the '92-'93 Toronto Blue Jays of the Bed and Breakfast game.

If you're skiing at Mad River Glen or Sugarbush, or just visiting the area, you'll not be disappointed with The Yellow Farmhouse. Close to town but set back from the main roads, it's ideally set: quiet and picturesque, but not far from restaurants and the like, and only a short trip to the hills... plenty of time to enjoy breakfast and reach the summits for first tracks.

This year was our fourth stay at the Yellow Farmhouse, and somehow, it really does seem to get better and better every year. We turned up anticipating delicious breakfasts, afternoon apres ski treats, long soaks in jacuzzi baths, and long, relaxing nights of sleep. Well, we got all these things and more! Mike and Sandra welcomed us back like old friends (as did Dolly, their adorable dog). They helped us plan where to eat, so that we wouldn't miss any of the new restaurants or our old favourites (some places in Waitsfield are closed for a few days mid-week). We went back to the wonderful American Flatbread and Mint, and also tried two excellent new places; Peasant in Waitsfield, and Salt, in Montpellier, on Mike's recommendation. They had organized our ski passes (good for Sugarbush, Mount Ellen and Mad River Glen) in advance, so we were able to go straight to the slopes with no hassle on our first day. They also gave us the benefit of their local knowledge to help us pick the best place according to the conditions each day. There is some seriously good mogul skiing in Mad River Glen, and the character and charm is like nowhere else we've ever skied (France, Austria, and Italy included).

The level of attention to detail at the Yellow Farmhouse is what elevates it to a level far above most B&Bs. Mike and Sandi have a way of making their guests feel so welcome without ever being fussy or over-familiar. Breakfasts are outstanding, and we looked forward to afternoon tea all the way back from the slopes to the inn.

Whether it's your first or fourth time in Waitsfield, Yellow Farmhouse Inn is not to be missed.

Room Tip: We stayed in Nicole and Caroline this year, both of which were pretty, spacious, and very comfortabl...
