We were in town - a group of 12 - for a family wedding a couple of days early and went to Hyde Away for dinner. Everything about it made for an awesome experience. We were seated in a slightly secluded room and got GREAT service from John. He was super attentive in making sure everyone had drinks and dishes and everything they needed. Lots of variety in food and everything came out quickly, correct and was delicious! A really fun and very easy place to celebrate with a group!!

Outstanding food! Great location near sugarbush and mad river glen. Owners and staff were great, very friendly and supportive. Bar and pool table area was a plus. Our fireplace room was clean, bed was comfortable. But overall we found our room to be outdated and overpriced for what it was compared to other options in the area. Website pictures do them major justice. If they put a little investment into updating the rooms, (or dropped room rates to reflect condition) this place would be a spot on. We paid the premium for the fireplace room thinking it had a real fireplace as it appeared on the website. Actually it was a cheap gas insert with a weak flame, not worth the premium rate for the novelty. Parking lots on both sides are mud, need new stone or paving. Building is so close to the road that it creates a blind curve that is tough to get out of without getting creamed by oncoming traffic. Don't listen to where they tell you to park, pick the side that will give you the best visibility for your exit direction. Overall as a rustic Vermont Inn, it's not bad, but not great for what they are charging. We would have rated average, but the fantastic food got them our Very Good rating. I'm not sure if we'll stay here again, but we will definitely be back for apres and dinner!

Thank you for staying with us and for dining with us. We're glad you enjoyed the food and staff. We enjoyed meeting you too. On the fire place room, we are completely renovating the room and bathroom this spring (May 2018) as you are right that it has become dated. We did change the fireplace to gas insert for safety, but the insert is a premium one that should aid in heating as well. Finally on the "mud" - unfortunately despite the rocks and staymat that we put down annually after an entire winter of plowing and sanding it is muddy in April/May. It's called mud season after all - we return the lot to its better form every spring. Nevertheless, thank you for your feedback and we're glad you came. Hope to see you again soon in our dining room.

We spent 4 nights at the Hyde Away Inn for a family ski vacation. The accommodations were perfect. We had a kitchen and good size family room to sit and watch TV and play cards. There were 3 bedrooms upstairs and a loft. Plenty of sleeping space! The one bathroom was large. The food at the Inn was delicious. My kids loved the pancakes!
Waitsfield and Warren had a nice variety of mom and pop places to eat. There are no restaurant chains or big box stores. It was refreshing to get away from all the commercialism. Sugarbush was a great ski resort. It has a beautiful lodge and the food is good. The slopes are varied so everyone in the family was challenged.
The best part of our visit was the people. Everyone was so incredibly nice. Ana at the Inn is wonderful. She is so friendly and welcoming. My kids are already planning our next visit to Vermont!

We stopped in here for dinner on a Saturday night with reservations, and were seated in the bar area beneath a television...very romantic? I’m a fan of duck, so I ordered the duck stew, and my partner ordered the penne pasta with vegetables. Both dishes were very mediocre and nearly unrecognizeable. The duck stew was simmered to mush, and then the chef added a few diced potatoes which were completely uncooked, adding an unwelcome crunchiness to the mush. The pasta was plain and virtually tasteless. Not quite sure how and by whom this place has been rated.

The good news? The beer and wine were standard issue, and drinkable.

Much better as a bar than as a restaurant. Buyer beware...

Thank you for stopping in and enjoying our drinks. Ski season Saturdays are very busy, so I'm glad you made a reservation. When making that reservation, if you have a particular seating preference, please let us know as we do have a dining room and a tavern area. As for food, while most people are very satisfied, we gladly can make something else for you if you are not. You just have to let us know while you are here. I will pass along your comments to the chef and thank you for the feedback.

Stopped in here after a day of skiing. The place was warm and inviting. There was a fire in the fireplace and we had some cocktails made with local spirits. The bartender let us sample them first. The onion soup was everything you want, cheesy and delicious. My husband ordered the steak special and I had an appetizer that was big enough for a meal.Gnocci with braised lamb, it was wonderful. The place soon filled with locals and we all had a great time.
