Stayed here with partner for a couple of days, the Inn was a great place to stay. The grounds were well cared for and the rooms very clean and restful (loved the bed)!

Stephanie (Innkeeper) was very helpful in finding/recommending a place for dinner to include a special Birthday dinner.

Breakfast (included) was great as were the afternoon cookies/snacks!

We don't travel a lot, but when we do we like nice places and this fit the build!

We have stayed at this lovely Inn twice. Each visit was only one night, but we look forward to the possibility of a longer stay sometime in the future. The rural location of this gracious Inn makes it such a relaxing place to stay. The owners and staff make you feel so welcome and they definitely set a tone of quiet elegance.

On our first stay, we were returning from dinner in Waitsfield, and as we got out of our car at the Inn, we heard the howls of coyotes -- not very far off! Pretty magical. And our room was at the back of the Inn, on the ground floor; it looked out over the back garden, and we were serenaded by the frogs as we slept.

On our second visit, the staff went the extra mile: I had broken my ankle the day before our visit, and they relocated us from the room they had reserved for us, on the second floor, and let us stay downstairs in the room we'd had on our previous visit. And they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable.

The Inn breakfast is made with local ingredients and is very unusual and inventive, but not TOO adventurous for the first meal of the day. We loved it.

The Inn is NOT inexpensive, but it's a great place to stay and a good value for the money, We would love to visit again!

Room Tip: Both times we stayed at Round Barn Farm, we slept in the Sterling Room on the ground floor and just...

This Inn has a beautiful setting. The decorating in the rooms is dated but the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast is made with fresh foods but a little on the gourmet side for most travelers' taste.

Many thanks for your comments regarding your stay. They are important to us.

I am sorry that you found our breakfasts as "too gourmet." We pride ourselves in using local foods, as you mentioned, and as you can tell from other guest comments, we really, really enjoy offering a quality dining experience for all of our guests. At times, our guests ask for (and receive) other breakfast items than the breakfast we are preparing that day. Sometimes it is dietary considerations or sometimes they just prefer a simpler menu.

We recognize that people have different tastes and we strive to make every one of our guest's stay a positively memorable experience.

My bigger concern was not that our breakfast was "too gourmet" but that for whatever reason, you did not feel comfortable enough with us to ask for an alternative. I am sorry for that and we will strive to be more approachable to your needs in the future. We really do hope you will give us another try but if not, we again thank you for helping us to become a better experience for all of our guests.

Stayed here in June and the surroundings were beautiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is delicious. You go through a covered bridge to get there and Ben and Jerry's is close by. If you want vintage Vermont, this is the place. A lovingly restored round barn completes the picture. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: I think you get a good view from each room

This inn was a truly wonderful place to stay. It's in a beautiful scenic, quiet location with lovely views and gorgeous gardens all around. The living room and large basement den were spacious, cozy, and very comfortably furnished. Breakfast was delicious and creative, served graciously in the dining room at individual tables. I stayed in the Sterling Room for the views through the many windows and was not disappointed. The sun floods in brightly early in the morning so it's not for those who like to sleep late but if you enjoy great views it's an excellent choice. The town was just a brief drive away -- through a covered bridge for an added touch of New England atmosphere.

My mother and I spent a belated mother's day week at the Round Barn June 2012 and adored it! Located in a secluded location, but convenient to several towns with good restaurants and "things to do." All of the guest rooms at the Inn were adorable and the common areas were so cozy you felt entirely comfortable sitting and reading in any of them.

One of our favorite things to do around the Inn was to enjoy their fresh baked cookies and huge selection of teas while sitting outside on patios and just enjoy the beautiful scenery. It really feels like you stepped back to a simpler slower paced time.

The afternoon hors d'oeuvres and daily breakfasts were extremely fresh and delicious, not to be missed! A gracious and accommodating staff made our trip a wonderful experience. We will definitely return! Highly recommended.

Room Tip: big lovely rooms. Ask for a fan if you are in the in-between season and it's warm.

We stayed for 5 nights on the Barn's winter package to ski and snowshoe. A good value deal it was too including Sugarbush and Mad River ski pass, a yoga session and trip to the cinema (excellent cafe adjoining it). In addition to agreeing with previous reviewers comments I would also add the staff responded promptly and with good humour to a problem we had and we were more than happy with the outcome. Breakfasts were certainly different to the norm and of very high quality but I do like good old fashioned eggs and bacon once in a while!
For dining we had a fantastic evening meal at the Pitcher Inn restaurant (thank you Ari), about a 10 minute drive away, and would recommend American Flatbread too. Jimmz was also excellent for pizzas with beer half the price of Flatbread!

The staff are wonderful and made our stay truly special and as for Cooper........
