“"A little gem"”

Having spent four nights last weekend at the Apple Tree Inn, we must add to the chorus of approval for what can only be described as 'a little gem'. Nothing was too much trouble for Beverlee and Andrew, our delightful and attentive hosts. Their hospitality was outstanding and they were full of helpful advice on places to eat and things to do and made everything so easy, just what you want when on vacation.

Our room (Sunrise) was very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts were huge and delicious. Cooking is clearly one of Beverlee's many talents. And the views - well, it would be hard to find anything better, especially during the Fall.

Spending even just one night at the Apple Hill Inn will do wonders for your soul! I consider this amazing little B&B my home away from home when I travel up to NH to visit my alma mater. The accomodations are second to none, with extremely comfortable rooms, phenomenal hospitality (Bev and Andy are the warmest, kindest folks), and some of the most well manicured gardens I've ever seen. Bev's breakfasts are a religious experience as well. Treat yourself to an amazing experience and check in to the Apple Hill Inn!!!

My husband and l have stayed at the Applehill for the past 5 Octobers and never would we even consider staying anywhere else! Bev and Andy are wonderful hosts and feel now that they are our friends. They make you feel so welcome and their home is yours. It is not the typical B&B where you feel that you are intruding on their property, but feel so very comfortable and relaxed in the cozy and very inviting atmosphere. They have done many improvements over the years that we have visited and each year it is more exciting to see what they have accomplished. It is beautiful, welcoming, cozy, comfortable and the views are outstanding...The rooms are wonderful and we always stay in the Paradise room and wake up over looking this vast green beauty of a lawn and the awesome foliage of the trees and you feel like you are in a different world, never wanting to leave. We have taken friends there and they also fell in love with the whole experience and of course Bev and Andy. We will be back again in the fall of '08 and will continue to do so as long as we are able to travel and highly suggest to anyone that is looking for an incredible stay and experience the beauty of Vermont, together with loving and caring people and not to mention the fabulous breakfast that Bev cooks and serves that this is a place that you must visit.

While attending the Quechee Balloon Festival, my wife and I and two of our friends wished to stay in a local bed and breakfast and I am very pleased to say that we chose the Apple Hill Inn, an inviting bed and breakfast with spectacular views, terrific hosts and wonderful breakfasts.

From the time that we were warmly greeted by Andy to the moment that we departed to return home, we were treated to a wonderful stay by our hosts. The house is lovely with magnificent views of the Vermont hills from the sitting rooms and deck. We choose to stay in the main house and our bedrooms were beautifully decorated, very comfortable and overlooked a lovely garden of lupines outside the window. One could not help but get a good night’s rest in these surroundings.

In the morning we were served breakfast on the deck overlooking the beautiful hills with cows grazing in the distance. The views from the house are beautiful but the views of the countryside from the deck cannot help but relax you and if you stay at the Apple Hill Inn you must have breakfast from this location.

As mentioned numerous times in many reviews, our hostess Beverlee is both a delightful hostess and a marvelous cook and we were all treated to one of the most wonderful breakfasts that we could imagine with freshly baked cranberry rhubarb muffins, a delicious apple bread pudding and a terrific special homemade juice blend that Beverlee had created (and refused to identify the contents).

I would be remiss to say that as much as the inn was inviting and comfortable, the host and hostess are a big part of the Apple Hill Inn as their warmth and energy truly go into everything that is a part of the experience of staying in this wonderful place. From the engaging conversation to the beautiful home and gardens, it is apparent that Beverlee and Andy truly wish each guest to have a wonderful experience when staying at their inn and we are sure to return in the not too distant future.

The Apple Hill Inn is a hidden gem in the Quechee-Woodstock area of Vermont. Innkeeper-/Owners Beverlee and Andrew Cook are kind, thoughtful, entertaining and interesting people who went out of they way to make our first stay wonderful and memorable. It definitely won't be our last!

The view from the inn is the perfect, unspoiled, quintessential Vermont countryside you picture in your imagination. The Cooks have a wonderful home perched at the top of a hill surrounded by beautiful farmland, making it a secluded hideaway for relaxing and recharging one's energy.

The house is large, furnished with lovely antiques, and yet manages to be comfortable and informal, creating a cozy elegance. The large parlor (AKA the Tea Room) is light-filled and comfy - the perfect place for a cup of tea and a chat (or for curling up with a good book).

The three guest rooms are unusually spacious, with comfortable beds topped with luxurious linens and down comforters. Our room also had a generous walk-in closet.

As lovely as the house and accommodations are, what makes the Apple Hill Inn extra special is the innkeepers. Beverlee has the energy of a small cyclone and manages to keep everything spotlessly clean and perfectly managed. Her many years of experience running a larger B&B are evident in the way she keeps everything running smoothly. Her amazing organic gourmet breakfasts are not to be missed! Her fresh baked goods are extraordinary, her main courses delectable. The fruit is absolutely fresh and succulent and the cheese is made locally and tastes divine. Beverlee probably could make a small fortune if she ever decides to publish a cookbook of her recipes. I know I'll be the first in line to buy a copy! :)

Bev is a warm and welcoming hostess. She loves getting to know each of her guests, and is a lively and engaging conversationalist. Andrew is a gracious host as well, and although he's a bit less gregarious than Bev, he is an extremely interesting, knowledgeable and articulate person with whom we enjoyed chatting very much.

It's not easy to find small b&b's with high-speed wireless Internet access in Vermont. But even when I'm on vacation, I bring my laptop and need to be accessible via e-mail and to be able to look up local information on the web. The Apple Hill Inn recently invested in high-speed wireless Internet access, which was one of the reasons my husband and I chose to stay there during our recent trip to Vermont.

As if the above weren't enough to recommend it, the Apple Hill Inn also is an excellent value, considering the size and quality of the accommodations, the extraordinary service, and the sumptuous gourmet breakfasts. It's a wonderful place to stay in the Quechee-Woodstock area. I'm sure you will enjoy it. My husband and I can't wait to return.

When you look at the website of the Apple Hill Inn, you will be impressed. However, the photograph and the description on the web are always going to be limited by the one dimensional perspective of your computer.

To awake in a cozy bed on a crisp Vermont morning with a panoramic view of a glorious New England sunrise would be enough for some. But for Beverlee Cook, it's not enough. This lovely and spry lady Innkeeper goes the extra mile. The Paradise Room is aptly named with it's soothing hues of pale blues, white and yellow. Miss Beverlee has decorated this room elegantly with antiques and Persian rugs but doesn't stop there. A CD player primed with Vermont In The Moonlight, bedside candles and an abundance of books for us to choose from to curl up together and read. We found Paradise in the Paradise Room. The kitchenette well stocked with coffee, tea, milk and a variety of sweeteners (even honey). We decided that we could live in this room permanently. It would be the perfect place to hide away from the world for a week or a month to finally finish writing that novel. Both functional and inspirational.

Speaking of inspiring, Beverlee whips up an incredible breakfast! When you walk into the main house, the smells of freshly baked muffins and breads fill your senses. Starting with fresh fruit compote lightly drizzled with vanilla yogurt sauce and then the chicken crepes with mushroom sauce accompanied by of course, apple crepes. The amazing pumpkin muffins and blueberry bread cannot go unmentioned either! I could go on but I worry about causing folks to salivate too much on their computer keyboards!

I still cannot come close to painting the multidimensional picture of Apple Hill Inn. One really must experience this haven on the hill to fully appreciate what she has to offer. My advice, give Beverlee a call when you're ready to be pampered!

P.S. Woodstock was charming too!

During our first visit to Vermont I was determined to find a B&B with the view I had in my mind. I had a certain idea of what Vermont would look like. We drove past many places, mostly within the city.
Because I wanted to be on a typically- touted green mountain overlooking a Valley, we kept searching the area.

Then, when we were almost spent we just happened upon
the view I had pictured!! The Apple HIll Inn is a modern, sprawling home on the top of a hill overlooking a river with a covered bridge in sight. The inside was dotted with colonial, antique touches throughout, including the lovely four poster bed in the "sunrise room."

The hosts were a delightful older couple who greeted us with a warm welcome when we drove up unexpectedly, without a reservation. We enjoyed our overnight visit, the comfortable accommodations and the full breakfast. Most of all we were thrilled with the incredible view of the valley and the green mountains on the other side of the town. This view will always be nearby in my mind's stored pictures. A great place to stay!!
