Visited this restaurant when they just opened for the season. It was quiet, which was nice. Food was tremendous and presentation was amazing. Ordered the mussles as an appetizer--I am not a big mussel fan, but my friend wanted to share them. This was the best mussel dish I have ever had. We were both drinking up the sauce with a spoon! Absolutely delicious. For dinner, we ordered the veal scallopini and the lamb chops. Both fantastic. Small portions, but really it's just enough. A big guy might not feel satisfied although there is a NY strip on the menu that the table next to us ordered and the thing was massive. The menu is limited. I was a little disappointed that they did not offer a filet, but the mussels make up for it. Service was so friendly--our waitress was cheery and loved that we were enjoying ourselves. It's expensive. Entrees run $35-$40. Worth it though--delicious!

Verde has remained an oasis of fine dining in the Southern Vermont mountains for as long as we can remember. The menu is innovative and the quality is superb. We were concerned when the long time chef moved to his own restaurant but his successor is as good, if not better. The wait staff has been together for years and the entire dining experience is delicious, fun and an excellent value. There is a great deal of care taken to provide local ingredients where & when possible, which makes for fresh and healthy meals. There is no question it is gourmet dining with a casual flair that is hard to beat in this part of Vermont!

Pricey but absolutely delicious - we were hesitant because of the price but decided to splurge for our last night at the mountain. And we weren't disappointed. We had the soup of the day, a cheddar ale, the arugula salad, the venison, the tuna tartare, and the 4 layer chocolate cake between the 2 of us. It was amazing - nothing disappointed at all. The salad was fresh and delicious, the soup was flavorful, could've been served hotter. The venison was outstanding - definitely worth trying, possibly the best dish on the menu. The tartare was a little spicy and delicious, and the cake was outstanding - crispy and creamy and rich.

Go for a special occasion because it's very expensive, but it's truly delicious. We're from NYC and have very high standards!

And try the venison - its outstanding!

Pricey, high end build out for a rustic setting. Service was friendly and prompt, food was very good, not great. Expensive. If you want fancy Italian after a day on the slopes, that's what you'll get.
