“Best mountain in the east!!!”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Been going to Stratton for over 10 years now. Year after year, I don't know how they do it but best conditions on the east coast. Even when nearby mountain are covered in ice or are left without snow Stratton always left me fulfilled :) Not to mention the staff who actually have smiles on their face and want to help, unlike some of the other mountains in the east. Ride it/ski it, youll love it!

Great Ski resort..plenty of VERY scenic runs. Beautiful views from the top of the mountain too!

One thing is that the ski lifts close at 4pm because there are no lights on the mountain (because it's enormous). So make sure you go early to get your money's worth.

Very good place. Walking distance to the mountain village, fully equiped kitchen, clean and good furniture. Heated external pool and 2 hot tubs. Village with shops, restaurants and market with affordable prices. Will return !

This was the last stop on our Newmarket holiday "New England in the Fall"; before this holiday we had already stayed in over a dozen hotels in 17 usa states Every one of these had at least provided somewhere to hang clothes- other than a rail in the room -the sort you see being pushed through the streets in the garment district; all others had placed at least one chair in the room; all others had an in house restaurant or had at least provided a coffee maker with sachets of various beverages - Coffee or tea bags and mostly a pack of biscuits (sorry cookies) The Stratton Mountain resort provided nothing of these. We arrived late on a cold wet day and there was no heating; It was dark and we had the option to go in a shuttle bus somwhere down the valley to a local diner ... only we had to be quick about it as they didn't want us to come back later than 9 and it was already 8 pm. so we ate some cookies we'd bought to eat in JFK check in area next day. Not our favourite place!!! But go if you must .... it might be very nice in summer, the location looks quite grand, and the bus driver might wait a bit longer for your group. Oh! and the staff were quite charming and friendly.

Long Trail House is a condominium. Be prepared for a modestly maintained unit. Ours had a really bad mattress. We slept across the head of the bed because it was the only part that wasn't sagging. The units are heavily used as the ski lifts are just a short walk away. There is a great little market at the end of the drive that has a good selection of food because restaurant choices are limited. The limitations were overlooked because the fall color in Vermont was breathtaking.

stopped here for 1 night on a tour through New England. the Stratton Inn was a good standard hotel. Perfect for its purpose!

The hotel was clean maybe a little worn but no more than you'd expect for this standard class ski / outdoor hotel. The rooms were adequate - could ave done with tea/coffee facilities.

Reception/bar/restaurant were great - warm and comfortable with a good choice of drinks/food available. Breakfast was included which was a standard continental.

Stayed for one night while on a Newmarket Holidays coach tour of New England and Vermont. Due to various reasons arrived late in the evening. However, dinner was still being served and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were quite basic and had seen lots of use also the carpets throughout were well used. This hotel is located in a ski resort and therefore has to endure hard wear throughout the ski season. Breakfast was complimentary and very nice with plenty of choice. If you are a skier this hotel would meet all your needs especially with the roaring log fire in the reception area. However, if you are a tourist and like a bit of luxury it may not be for you.
