Our condo # 238 was beautiful. Two KING beds and queen pull out in front of fireplace. Beautifully done, home away from home. Was great for our stay for a Family wedding. Room view was perfect, nice balcony.

Suite had a toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, full refrigerator, washer/dryer, two full baths, dishes, silver wear, cups and all.

Short walk or shuttle to cute village. Lots of fun at Stratton. !!

Room Tip: Our 11 year old son did not have much to do. We are a family who does NOT ski. We were only at Str...

We book extended family ski trip every year and always go back to Stratton after checking rates at other ski areas. We always go during beginning of shoulder season in order to get best rates. We booked 3 bedroom unit with pull out in living room and had plenty of space for 10 people. Stratton is also one of the few places that can flip the bedding and turn 2 doubles into a king using a screwdriver and pushing them together.

The furnishing are quality, and any time you needed any extra dishes or pots and pans required only a phone call to the welcome center. Outdoor pool is nice, but the best part was the van service that runs throughout the day, no need to walk to slopes anymore. On the first day we took the van back to Hearthstone for lunch the driver asked us what time we wanted to go back skiing and met us in the garage, it's too convenient.

We also made an effort to tip housekeeping, they asked us what time we would be back every day for lunch and the place was spotless when we returned. Bring all your own food and provisions as the on mountain store is very expensive.

We attended a wedding at this property, and stayed in a three bedroom unit with friends. The price was very attractive, at about $250 per night. The unit was clean, and in good condition - the property is fairly new, and the overall quality of the interior finishes and furnishings was very good.

I am quite sure that because these properties are generally busy during the ski season, and not in the summer months, the level of staffing and service was bare bones - that could account for the problems we had, but some of the issues we had were due to a simple lack of common sense and service.

Prior to our arrival, our friend who booked the room was charged five times for a one night stay - it took way too much time to get that sorted out, but eventually there was a credit to her card for the accidental charges. The personnel handling the situation were not professional, and were generally non-responsive.

When we arrived, there was only one parking space available for a three bedroom unit, and the alternative parking was across the street - a hassle with luggage not only because of the distance, but because the entrance to the lodge is elevated and when you cross the street with your luggage you must then ascend a gravel sidewalk - not ideal for rollerboard suitcases.

The lobby of the lodge itself was modest, and it's important that any readers of this review understand that the hearthstone lodge is not a hotel - it's a condominium building - there is no front desk, no lobby bar, no atmosphere to lounge whatsoever. So you walk into a dark lobby with a few chairs - pretty mediocre.

While the condominium unit itself was pretty nice, we had one major complaint: the beds. In one bedroom, my wife and I slept on a king size bed that had a plastic cover around the mattress on top of which the sheets were made. We crawled into bed after the wedding, and it felt and sounded like we were crawling into a plastic grocery bag. With every movement, it sounded as if we were rubbing our fingers on a plastic tupperware container. In the Master Bedroom of the unit, the king-sized bed was actually two twin beds pushed together with a pad down the middle.

oh yeah - no wifi - who doesn't have wifi these days?

In all seriousness - are there idiots running this place in the summer? Charged five nights for a one night stay, and then the staff can't figure out how to correct the problem until we've spent hours of our time sorting it out with them? Beds with plastic covers and twins pushed together. I suppose you get what you pay for in the summer months here. And I suppose this isn't Vail or Aspen. But come on - with a little attention to detail, service, and atmosphere the Hearthstone Lodge could be a very nice place. Unfortunately, we will never stay there again.

We stayed in a three bedroom unit for three nights, and we couldn't have been more impressed with the size of the rooms and the quality of the furnishings. We were hoping for a little more activity - this being an Intrawest property, we expected more to do in the village. Even those things which were open, were open limited hours (ie the gondola only runs on the weekends, restaurants were open for breakfast or dinner but not both). This is a great jumping off point for other area activities like the Bromley Thrill Park, and the rooms are an exceptional value in the off-season.

The Hearthstone Lodge at Stratton Mountain in Vermont was quite enjoyable. We stayed in a three bedroom unit with two other couples, plus two kids sleeping on the fold out in the living room. Even with eight people, there was plenty of room. The kitchen was nicely appointment. There was a washer and dryer in the unit. The bedrooms were quite large and quiet. The slopes are a short walk across the street - there is even a shuttle if you don't want to carry your skis.

The only two issues we had with the accommodations were only one indoor parking pass with a three bedroom unit. There was outdoor parking across the street which was easy. The pool/hot tub/sauna layout is poor. You have to go down a full set of stairs outdoors to get to this area.

The slopes themselves were in fantastic shape. We had a fantastic time and will definitely go again.
