As a new resident to the Stowe area I was looking to join a local gym. Unfortunately, I found out the Swimming Hole is the only gym in town with a pool and group classes.

Be prepared to empty your pocket if you want to visit this gym for a day pass or monthly membership. This gym is WAY over priced. Want a yearly membership? It's $745/year per person. That price surely includes group classes, towel service and locker access. Right? NOPE. If you want to take group classes add $295/year. Want to use a locker? Add another $250/year. Want towel service? Add $200 a year.

Grand total for a yearly gym membership is $1490/per person. Oddly enough that is close to the cost of a Season Ski Pass at Stowe. Must be the same accountant!

The Swimming Hole claims to be a "non-profit, community pool that is affordable and accessible to families in Stowe, Morrisville, and the surrounding area." This place is far from affordable.

We were suckers!!! We will never come back!! They overcharge and you pay for every minute. Our kids were not allowed to swim an extra 15 or 20 minutes in an empty pool after paying for a half hour class $70 unless we paid extra!!! The staff is unfriendly, snotty, and uptight. The place offers very little other than a beautiful pristine swimming pool and bathroom facilities at an inordinate price. They are either financially insecure or have no competition, to treat customers with such pettiness and arrogance. We urge Vermonters in Stowe to consider creating another facility that can offer a swimming facility that prides itself with excellence without jeopardizing customer loyalty and satisfaction. Do not succumb to the shiny veneer of this place. It's management SUCKS!

I went when visiting my brother whom is a local to Stowe. We wanted to take my twins swimming as a different activity to the snow. Firstly I couldn't believe the price $48 just to swim with 3 year olds this is an outrageous price. I live in central London and and it's cheaper there I have no idea how locals afford to pay these prices on a regular basis! On top of the price once we got into the water it was SO cold that daughters lips were blue within 10 mins of being in the water so we had to get out. When we told them this at the reception they said the heating was only turned on hours before so it hadn't had time to heat up. WHY then didn't they tell us this before we went in and paid $48!!! I would recommend the place on this basis alone! This is a great shame as the facilities were nice but with this kind of lack of customer service why would you visit again. This needs to be improved!!!!!!!!!!

Have been frequenting The Swimming Hole for almost a year, first as a visitor and now as a local. Amazing indoor adult swimming pool with beautiful views of the mountains. Great separate pool for the kids. Plus, up-to-date cardio and strength training equipment, good classes, and clean locker rooms. Day rates are a bit expensive, but membership prices are fair.

Expensive for a day pass and my wife who wanted to just read and spectate was also going to be charged the $16.Changing rooms have no private cubicles and whole purpose of trip was so 4 year old daughter could play in the play pool! Pool was pumping in ice cold water on day i was there so only stayed for only 30 mins.Advised the life gaurds who also agreed it was cold but contacted customer services on line who basically said there was no problem and so i must be a liar!!!!
From out of town so wont effect their turnover but i vow never to return and adivise to steer clear!!!!!
