Todd and Kristie couldn't do enough for us. They were warm and charming. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfasts are very tasty with a wide array of accompanying fruit and pastries. Coffee , Tea and soft drinks are always available along with pastries and cakes. Their staff is very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, restaurants etc. Tony is a gem and a wealth of information.

For all that have not experienced the Inn. Peaceful, comfortable, beautiful atmosphere both inside and outside, and wonderful Inn Keepers! (Kristie, and Todd) The rooms are amazing, and the breakfast is perfect everyday! We recently celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary, and couldn't have chosen a better place!

Room Tip: Fiddlehead offers the best privacy!

much too expensive for what you get. pretty, decent breakfast but not worth $300 a night. our room, Sterling, was a fishbowl to other guests. Room was clean, liked the fan, but we really wanted a lot more for $300 a night.

Room Tip: do not stay in the Sterling Room

Greetings and thank you for taking the time to write a review, as well as, 2 emails after your 1 night stay. We appreciate your feedback. As we stated in our reply to your emails, we are very sorry you did not like your room and also sorry you didn't see the map of the inn showing where your room was located in the inn. So others reading this might know, your statement of "Sterling is a fish bowl" was your reference to the room having a large patio overlooking the gardens and waterfall with a fire pit outside. A fire pit that was not in use during your 1 night stay. We're very sorry that you felt you had to keep the curtains pulled because of the UNUSED fire pit. We're also very sorry that you did not voice that concern when we checked you in and showed you the room and view. We genuinely want to know if your room is ok, when we ask that question on your tour of the inn and room. We would have been happy to move you to another room or find a room at another inn for you. Your disappointment was totally avoidable. We only wish you had said something then. You will not find more eager to please innkeepers, but we don't know there is an issue unless you tell us at the time, rather than after the fact in a review. The previous 5 night guest in Sterling could not praise the room, amenities, and inn enough. So, we were caught quite off guard to hear you did not like your room and you didn't say anything to us, but in fact said your room was just fine during check in. As for the price...we will take your feedback to heart. However, you will not find another inn in Stowe that offers what we do for the same price. Private, ADULT only, king bed, huge bathroom, double sided fireplace, double jacuzzi, view of immaculate gardens and waterfall, complimentary beverages, snacks, and pastries 24/7, huge gourmet breakfasts, and individualized concierge service for all the local activities, restaurants, and festivals, and any other needs you may have. We cater to any dietary restriction, we bring in fans for white noise, we have a laundry room, pillow closet, 300 plus video library, game room with games as well as a pool table, gazebo, yard games, and 9.5 private beautifully landscaped acres, located half way between the village and the Mountain Resort for our guest to enjoy. We think it is very worth the money and love sharing our home and inn with our guests!

One word, WOW. Beautiful 2 sided stone fireplace, warm and cozy atmosphere and excellent customer service. Owners Kristie and her husband Todd are very involved in every aspect of the business. They were personable, kind and most of all, very genuine! .Our room had a two sided fireplace with one side in the bathroom (right next to the Jacuzzi tub!), clean, warm room with the most amazing view of the backyard which has by far the most amazing water feature I've ever seen in Stowe! The breakfast at the Inn was so good that we even asked for the recipe. The inn is also in the perfect location (halfway between the mountain and Downtown Stowe) We have found our go-to Stowe retreat!!

From the moment we drove up the winding driveway to Stone Hill Inn we knew we were in the right place, for relaxation, meditation, or friendly interaction with the owners, Kristy and Todd. A wonderful place to return after a day of mountain climbing, skiing or leaf peeping - or just nosing around the shops in Stowe. Our room was beautifully appointed with a large four-poster bed, a two-sided fireplace that also opened to the large spa-like bathroom, sliders out to the manicured gardens facing away from the front. We sat in the garden chairs and enjoyed the beauty and quietude. The mini-kitchen dedicated to the guests was stocked with water and soda, and periodically a platter of fresh baked cookies appeared. Breakfast was served in a bright room surrounded by windows overlooking the yard and woods. A full array of fruit, pastries and a main dish was served, with the option of mimosas for an extra charge. There was no rush to finish and the owners were very present and attentive to all our requests. It was clear that this B/B is a favorite for some of the other guests as they spoke about their past visits to the facility. In the evening, a group of guests sat outside around a small bonfire chatting and enjoying each others company. A nice touch if you are so inclined to meet new people from other areas. Being the football fans that we are, after a morning drive up Mt. Mansfield and short hike, we sat in the large game room and watched the game on the large screen television. Stowe has so much to offer, from shops to great eats to both indoor and outdoor activities - for all seasons. The Stone Hill In was the perfect retreat after a full day of fun...and is now at the top of our list for a return visit!

Room Tip: The room at the end of the hall had extra window facing the front and the slider in the rear, making the room bright and airy.
