We are returning guests at the Inn, having been there close to 10 visits over a number of years. We always enjoy the facilities and this time was no exception. We upgraded to a huge room in The Mansfield House and it was well worth it. It is top shelf with a gas fireplace, romantic jacuzzi in the room and beautifully appointed bathroom.
The outdoor, very heated, pool and hot tub has been newly renovated and is a wonderful treat in the early evening. The gym is well appointed with Cybex equipment. The entire facility is very clean and well maintained.
Our reservation included a full breakfast of which they do a fantastic job with the food. I was a bit disapointed in the very slow service though.
Stowe is a lovely town with lots and lots to offer and the Green Mountain Inn is in the center of it all. We will, of course, be back!

Room Tip: There is a real variety of rooms depending on your type of visit and budget. Be sure to check out al...

Learning that your stay at the Green Mountain Inn added to your enjoyable weekend in Stowe makes me very happy! Our newly updated, outdoor heated pool is an absolute favorite of our guests. We’ve provided an area inside, away from the cold, where our guests can dry off and prepare for their walk back to their rooms, and we appreciate you sharing your suggestion also. I look forward to welcoming you back very soon and I thank you for your kind review.

We have been visiting Stowe for over 30 years and have found the Green Mountain Inn a perfect place to stay in town. Typically we visit during spring/fall shoulder season and enjoy the central location, being in town and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and attractions. Suites and standard rooms have always been very clean, well appointed and comfortable. The new heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi are a special treat to enjoy after a day of biking or hiking. The new fire pit provides a nice gathering spot for after dinner smores! The breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly want for breakfast including wonderful homemade breads, muffins and scones, a good assortment of fresh fruit and hot foods. Not all rooms have refrigerators but our request for one was taken care of timely and efficiently. The only issue we had during this visit was a lumpy mattress. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and accommodating in installing an additional mattress pad which helped with the problem. The entire staff at the Green Mountain Inn was wonderful and make the stay special.

Room Tip: Suites are a bit more pricey than standard rooms but an exceptional treat. Standard rooms are very n...

Do not hesitate...everything is almost perfect, from the minute you walk in, 'til goodbye.
The Inn is very, very old but cozy, and to today's taste, the room was very clean, the dinner at the Whip grill was also very nice, atmosphere of an old pub with the fireplace and the waitress was so nice.
Our breakfast was included and it was magnificient... lots of choices and all good. Buffet is very tasty and the quality is all there. Just go, you won't regret it !

This is a lovely hotel with an exceptionally warm, helpful and professional welcome. It is so well situated in central Stowe, a beautiful town in stunning Vermont.
Our room although small was spotlessly clean, however we felt that our room allocation was unfortunate as we were situated above a series of air conditioning units for the dining room. These were very noisy when switched on early for breakfast.
There is very little choice of a “good quality hotel” in this area but we enjoyed our stay as it felt “homely”

This is my first review, but not our first stay. We usually make the 3 hour drive 1 or 2 times a year just to get away. The feel of the hotel is like it was almost 100 years ago, with all the modern amenities. The best thing we have found it the staff. They are all so friendly, from the front desk to the morning breakfast waitresses. They make you feel welcome and their fresh made bread is AMAZING. You can even buy it to take home.

We have tried different types of rooms in the hotel, and though the suites with hot tubs are nice, the classic rooms are our favorite. They have everything you need.

The only thing I have not been impressed with is the restaurant and bar. Though the atmosphere is very quaint, almost a secret feeling, and the food is good, the service could be better. Service staff could be better trained and more attentive to patrons. The bar has been hit or miss depending on who is working. My wife ordered a drink once and it was just great. The next time we came back (different bartender) it was horrible.

Overall, this hotel definitely deserves #1 in Stowe, even though it could improve in some areas. We will be taking the trip back soon. As an added bonus, the annual car show parade in August goes right by the hotel. I have to admit is really fun watching all the cool classic cars go by from their front deck, while drinking tea and fresh cookies.

Room Tip: Bottom floor, in front of pool, or 2nd floor facing front of hotel.

I’m so glad you had the opportunity to enjoy relaxing on the front porch of the Green Mountain Inn during the Stowe Antique Car Show! What could be better than watching history go by from one of the most historic buildings in town! I am truly disappointed however, to hear that the service you received in our restaurant was not up to par and am very thankful that it has not deterred you from returning in the future. I will share your concerns with our staff in the hopes of improving the experience for all of our guests. Thank you for sharing your experience and I look forward to greeting you again soon.

We spent three nights at the Inn (November 1-3) with two of our teenage kids and had a great time. We had a luxury family suite in the Mansfield House and it was beautiful. The room was spacious, very clean and the separate room for the kids was great. Fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, huge flat-screen, big bathroom - and with the two kids, we made use of the extra bathroom in the building that was not part of the room. The building is beautiful. Breakfast was great - the selection is not huge, but very good. My wife and I stayed in the Mansfield House a few years ago when it was new, and it has aged very well -- still looks, feels and smells new! We will definitely come back again. Not the cheapest place to stay, but we left feeling we had good value for our money.
