My husband, daughter and I stayed here five nights last week and we were very pleased with our stay. The check-in was quick and our room was clean and even had a gas fireplace and the room was quiet. When my husband went to the front desk to ask that the combination for our in-room safe be reset, an employee showed up to our room before my husband returned! (Can't beat that for service!) We used the outdoor heated pool which was clean and the perfect temperature. We also took advantage of the indoor hot tub which is a good size and also the sauna which worked really well. The Whip restaurant is a must with their homemade oatmeal honey bread which they provide at the start. We ate there twice and it was delicious. Next door to the inn is a country store which has an old fashioned appeal with tons of candy selections for those of you with a sweet tooth, as well as, Vermont products such as blueberry jams, etc. We also walked to Frida's for Mexican food close by which was good and the Black Cap cafe is close by for freshly baked croissants and coffee. We stayed at this inn over 20 yrs ago at Easter and they even left chocolate bunnies at our door! We will definitely return to this inn next time we visit Stowe.

Room Tip: Room 739 located in the clubhouse is quiet, has a fireplace, two double beds and is on the second fl...

I am so happy to read that you and your family had the chance to enjoy so many aspects of the Green Mountain Inn. From the outdoor heated pool, which is an absolute must when here, to our hearty homemade bread, it seems like your stay was fully enjoyable and memorable too. Please don’t wait another 20 years to return; we can’t wait that long to welcome you back! Thank you for your lovely review.

We visit Stowe once a year and always have a wonderful stay at The Green Mountain Inn. From the beautiful luxurious suites to the heated pool. The staff are warm & friendly, the grounds are meticulously groomed & garden are flourishing in the proper season.

We thoroughly enjoy the food at the Whip restaurant. We have two toddlers so we usually do take out at the Whip. We have tried the Blue Donkey which is a lot of food!! We also enjoy the thin crust Pizza at Piecasso Pizzeria & Lounge. We have had a picnic at the park on Mountain Rd.

Stowe is a wonderful visit with the children we adore the annual tradition of taking pictures at the Apple Cider Hollow Mill, playing at the Ben & Jerry's park & touring Cabot cheese.

We will continue to make annual visits to this fine Inn and highly recommend it!!!

Room Tip: We enjoy the luxury suites, so we have plenty of space. The layout of the rooms is ideal with the gl...

Very comfortable room. Everyone that works there is very helpful and genuinely happy.
Received discounted lift tickets and had the meal plan which includes breakfast. Great Bar and restaurant on the premises. Within easy walking distance to fun stores and restaurants. I have also enjoyed the summers there. I am always looking for a reason to return. I found one, my daughters graduation so I will be back in May with family. Can't wait!

Room Tip: The Smugglers Room with a kitchen and fireplace is roomy and close to the reception desk and parking...

we stayed at the inn just after the holidays Jan 2-5th and travelled with my 9 and 12 year old. we skiied at stowe for 3 days and stayed at the inn for 4 nights.
the inn is so quaint. Very clean. Every night there were dleicious cookies in the main dining room. family night.wine tasting. Our kids were older, so we could leave them in the room and watch tv. But they came down for family night.
Not miuch to do in town, but after skiing all day, we were all looking forward to going swimming in the hot pool at night from 6-8pm. well worth the plunge from the indoor warmth, to the freezing cold outdoors. it was -22 Celsius. The kids loved it.
The restaurant attached to the hotel. was probably one of the best food we ate the whole stay. Would highly recommend it.By the way, we went to the Trapp family lodge, it was terrible, really, we are austrain descent and we have better shnitzel where we live.
will plan another trip here for sure.

Room Tip: we were positioned in a room at the front of the hotel. On the main streeet. No problems with noise.

We were very pleased with our 3-day stay at the Green Mountain Inn. We had a "luxury" room in the Mill House that included very nice furnishings, a canopy king bed, gas fireplace, and a large bath with jacuzzi. With the bed and breakfast plan, the price was very reasonable, less than for a more modest room at the Trapp Family Lodge where we stayed before. The buffet breakfast was excellent with menu items included. Also, they had gluten-free bread available and a gluten-free menu for dinner in their excellent restaurant. We also enjoyed the many historic photographs of Stowe with explanatory captions.

It was certainly wonderful to have welcomed you as a guest at the Green Mountain Inn and I sincerely appreciate your kind comments. I am thrilled that you were able to enjoy the classic elegance and original artwork featured in the Mill House. We’ve put a lot of thought into our gluten-free menu, and I’m happy that you were able to take advantage of it. Please come and stay with us again and thank you for your review.

Over the years, my family and I have stayed at a lot of hotels in the Stowe area. Green Mountain Inn continues to be one of our favorites. If you plan on doing activities other than skiing (e.g., fall folliage viewing, fishing, dining, shopping), its more central location in town and proximity to town is a big plus. This is in contrast to the Stowe Mountain Lodge which is obviously the most convenient for skiing, but in non-winter months, seems a bit out of the way with the long-ish drive up Mountain Road.

For those who haven't been to Green Mountain Inn, it consists of several separate buildings: the original inn and annex, as well as buildings such as the Mansfield House, Mill House, etc. Of these options, we prefer the rooms in the Mansfield House which are large, and well-furnished with jetted tubs, fireplaces, and recently updated large screen TVs. One downside though about staying in this building is that the pool, exercise facility is about a block away.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay at the Green Mountain Inn. I really do value your perception, as a seasoned Stowe visitor, and thank you for mentioning our convenient location. The Mansfield House is certainly a favorite place for many of our guests and the walk to our pool is unfortunately a little farther than from the Main Inn building. Your continued loyalty is appreciated and I look forward to your next stay with us.

We stayed at the Green Mountain Inn a few weeks back. Our room was in the Mansfield building. Loved the rooms. We had both our children with us. The Inn made us very comfortable by providing a pack and play for our 20 month year old daughter and extra pillows for our 4.5 year old son. The room layout was perfect as our son had his own space in the suite and we had our own room in the master with our daughter. It was extremely quiet in the building. The staff were extremely kind and always willing to go the extra mile for us. I would suggest the Inn to anyone with or without kids. There is a variety of room types and something for everyone. From small and quaint to a luxury room fit for an entire family of 6-8 people. Always a great stay! Thanks

Room Tip: Luxury Rooms in the Mansfield are extremely comfortable and spacious
