The Vermont Ale House has an extensive craft beer offering. We came here for a drink and really enjoyed the beer and atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

“New place in town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013 via mobile

Stopped on a Sunday for supper. Decided to try this place based on Trip Advisor entries. Nice interior space and design. We sat in a booth with a chalk board (and chalk) for table top. Service was quick and friendly (they were not busy). Lot's of beers, but very limited menu. We went for the roast beef sandwich, piled high on a yummy roll. Got my month's worth of red meat. Fries were crisp and very tasty. Would go back after they extend their menu. Casual setting, country music on the sound system, friendly folks.

“New Bar with a lot of potential”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

The owner wants to carve his own path and offer unique beers from all over the place, not to do a disservice to the quality VT beers, but as he said, everyone offers them. Nice place to sit at the bar and have a few drinks, menu looked very good.

“Great New Spot in Stowe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

I've been to the Vermont Ale House twice now. The interior is very well done. Great photos from a superb local photographer, awesome looking bar and really cool lounge area. The beer selection is great. I believe there are 28 beers on tap and not the usual suspects that you can get everywhere else.

The menu is limited, but what they have on it is done very well. I've had the BBQ grilled wings that are sold be the pound. They are meaty and juicy and have a ton of taste. The handcut sweet potato fries are excellent!!!

I agree that the owners and staff should smile a little more. They are all great guys, they are local, but in a small town, people really do want to see a friendly face that says hello. This is what small towns are all about.

The place will continue to do very well if they reach out to the locals and the tourists. A must visit when in Stowe!!!
